The class of 2020 Small Forwards is an interesting group to say the least. This is a position that has been strong in recent years for the state of Indiana but beyond the Top 2 in the class, D’Andre Davis and Tre Coleman, it doesn’t look to have the depth at the top as it has in year’s past.
Former HSE standout Chris Grubbs is heading out of state to attend a prep school so that takes a DI talent off the board next time around. Andrew Welage has picked up some DI offers recently from Vermont and Nevada but beyond that there isn’t much brewing yet. Hopefully this month will provide a little more clarity.
But, we do have guys in this group we like from Qualen Pettus to Jake Wadding to Jacob Johnson. The DII market should be pretty happy with some options on the table and quite a few of them.
There are only 39 prospect rated as Small Forwards in the class. Only one of those is off the board in our top prospect, D’Andre Davis who is headed to Nebraska. The bottom of this group doesn’t look all that great right now and there are quite a few that aren’t playing AAU this summer out of choice or injury so that might hurt the recruitment aspect as well.
