The Virginia native averaged 28.7 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 2.0 SPG and 2.0 APG as a junior for the Chiefs (14-9) this past season.
With offers from UF, Miami, Rhode Island, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, West Virginia, Siena, Richmond, VCU, George Mason, Saint Louis, Detroit and Old Dominion, he ultimately chose a steady ACC program in Virginia Tech.
Bamisile, who plays for Team Parsons CP25 on the travel circuit and spent his sophomore season at Montverde in Florida has really gained traction from college programs over the last year.
Back in April during the first live period, I sat down with Bamisile and he was fresh off his verbal commitment to Northwestern. He told me how he was looking forward to getting on to campus and playing for the Big Ten school. It is clear, he had a change of heart.
Bamisile broke down his decision to switch his commitment to Virginia Tech.
“I wanted to be closer to home and play in the ACC. After discussing with my family, I decided on Virginia Tech because it’s a good fit for those wants,” Bamisile told Prep Hoops. “Also, coach (Mike) Young and I have a relationship that I think can go a long way and he is also down on helping me with my long term goals. So, being in that situation I’ll have a chance to help tech win and also fulfill my own dreams.”
Bamisile ranks No. 118 in the 2020 Prep Hoops National Rankings and No. 4 overall in the 2020 Prep Hoops Virginia Rankings.
This is a very solid prospect. Bamisile is a reliable athlete who loves to stretch the floor and push the tempo. A very personable and social kid off the court, on the court he’s all business. Bamisile had two 40 point games last season including a 48-point performance in a season-opening win over Powhatan 90-89. He also had eight games with 30 plus points.
Look for Bamisile to be a productive college player and continue to develop and mature overall. His ceiling is high and in the right system, he is going to be even better than he is right now.
