Moving On. The Tigers started five seniors a year ago – Blair Slaughter, Nick Hoyt, Cale Murphy, Adam Erickson, and Isaac Brower – plus the bench used Payton Marquardt and Nick Feldman who were also seniors. Hoyt will play at Briar Cliff next year, he and Slaughter were the scorers that Harrisburg depended most on a year ago.
Returning Starters. None.
Reserves Playing a Bigger Role. Six foot guard Connor Geddes and 6-foot-5 big Brayden Phipps were two of the most valuable pieces to the team last year as sophomores and will likely be the go-to players for Harrisburg the next two years. Gedes has a dynamite shooting stroke that was on display at the state tournament putting him on the floor for starter’s minutes. Phipps is a high percentage finisher that earned more and more touches as the season moved on. Both Gedes and Phipps are expected to have big junior seasons. Six-foot-1wing Blaze Lubbers should also have a bigger role this winter after being the sometimes used 9th man this year.
More Potentials from the JV. Seniors? Five-foot-10 guard Payton Metzger and six-foot guard Sam Christensen played JV a year ago and are the two seniors that should step into solid varsity roles next winter. Also, 6-foot-4 senior Kya Kleinwolterink will be needed up front as well be 6-foto-3 juniors Ethyn Rollinger and Nicholas Tschudy. The 6-foot-6 size of junior Brayden Phipps could also factor in the rotation and make sure to watch for sophomore guard Andrew Walter who played on the JV as a frosh.
