Commitments
Kaelan O’Neil (2020 Churchill) to Eastern Washington – The first member of Oregon’s Class of 2020 is off the board in O’Neil who committed to Eastern Washington this week. The 6-foot-4 wing had picked up a scholarship offer from the Eagles last summer but waited until he made a visit to campus before deciding to end his recruitment. O’Neil recently attended NBPA Top 100 camp and held his own against some of the top players in the country.
Nate Rawlins-Kibonge (2021 Jefferson) to Washington State – The recruiting process had just really started for Rawlins-Kibonge as he started getting phone calls directly from college coaches on June 15th. Washington State was one of those calls but the Cougars worked quickly, hosting the 6-foot-7 post on an unofficial visit and then offering him a scholarship after he got back. Rawlins-Kibonge accepted the offer on the spot and thus locked up his college decision early – the first of the state’s ultra-talented Class of 2021 to do so.
Keylin Vance (2019 Jefferson) to Riverside (Calif.) City College – After looking at a number of different options, Vance will head down to Southern California and join the team at Riverside City College. He’s the final members of PrepHoops Oregon’s Class of 2019 Top Ten to make a decision and his hope is that after two years at Riverside CC, he’ll be able to reach his goal of making it to the NCAA Division I level.
Jaysen Howard (2019 Dayton) to Chemeketa CC – There are still a few guys in the Class of 2019 who have yet to make their college decisions but Howard is off the board as he’s headed to Chemeketa after playing this spring with Team Jones. The 6-foot-6 post is lanky and a bit raw, but has the ability to score around the hoop and has the potential to be a contributor with the Storm.
Transfers
Geno West (2018 Jefferson/Idaho) to Concordia (Ore.) – After playing his first two seasons at Idaho, West decided to come back home and join up with Concordia and new head coach Rodrick Rhodes. The high-scoring 6-foot-2 guard, who was First Team 6A All-State as a senior and helped lead Jefferson to the state title, had found a role as a sophomore with the Vandals but made the choice to transfer and he should be an immediate impact player for the Cavaliers.
Xavier Hallinan (2015 Central Catholic/Portland) to Purdue Northwest – Hallinan graduated from the University of Portland and decided to spend his final year of eligibility at Purdue Northwest, a program that is transitioning to Division II. The Central Catholic graduate averaged just under 2 ppg last season but averaged 7.8 ppg in nine games as a sophomore in 2016-17.
Offers
Nate Bittle (2021 Crater) from Vanderbilt – The word about Bittle is starting to slowly creep beyond just the West Coast as the 6-foot-11 post earned his first scholarship offer from the SEC in Vandy. Bittle has been extremely busy this summer even after the spring ended with AAU as he attended the US Olympic Trials (where he made it all the way to the final cut) and NBPA Top 100 camp where he also did well. Bittle just recently put up some huge numbers with Crater at a live tournament down in Arizona so it wouldn’t be surprising to see some more offers come his way.
Kam Robinson (2021 Jefferson) from Pacific – Earning his second scholarship offer this past week is Robinson, who picked one up from the University of the Pacific. Robinson will be attending Nike Camp this upcoming week and is also scheduled to be at the WIBCA event in Bellevue so more offers could be on their way as college coaches get a closer look at the rapidly developing 6-foot-8 big man from Jefferson.
Kruger Edwards (2020 Crater) from Lane CC – While typically an offer from an in-state NWAC school may not be huge on the radar screen, for Edwards it signifies that he’s a player worth watching. The 6-foot-5 wing/forward has a solid frame and good athleticism and he continues to develop his overall game this summer.
Recruiting Tidbits
Tyson Parker (2019 Central Catholic) is still considering his options. He’s been accepted to attend Oregon State as a regular student but he may have the opportunity to earn dual credits and continue to play hoops at Linn-Benton for at least the first year. He is hoping to make a decision soon… Making a decision on his college future is Braedin Nowlin (2019 Dayton) who will be attending Western Oregon as a regular student.

At Southridge, long time head coach Phil Vesel has decided to take a sabbatical from coaching. Top assistant Scott Entinger will take over the reins in 2019-20 with the intent of handing it back to Vesel after that.
