A whole host of rising juniors got phone calls and a couple picked up new scholarship offers. All that and a few more members from the Class of 2019 made college decisions in this weekend update.
Commitments
Jaden Robinson (2019 Sandy) to Pacific (Ore.) – Robinson, a native of Oklahoma, will stay in the state of Oregon for college as he’ll be playing at Pacific. The 6-foot-2 guard is an athletic performer who versatility should be able to fit into the system that Boxers head coach Justin Lunt employs.
Tristan Rainbolt (2019 Sunset) to Highline (WA) CC – Rainbolt was undecided late in the year if he wanted to try and play college basketball but after deciding to play AAU ball in the spring with Rose City Basketball, the 6-foot-7 forward found himself an opportunity at Highline CC. Rainbolt is a bit raw but has athletic ability and the ability to hit perimeter shots, so it will be interesting to watch his development at the NWAC level.
Jared Hauser (2019 North Marion) to Pierce (WA) CC – Hauser was a bit under the radar at North Marion as junior Sergio Jimenez got most of the attention, but the 6-foot-1 guard is a solid all-around player and shooter who will be working hard to find minutes at Pierce CC.
Offers
Ben Gregg (2021 Clackamas) from Texas Tech – As you might expect, Gregg’s phone was flooded with phone calls since midnight on Saturday. In the barrage of contact came his latest scholarship offer from Texas Tech. The offer from the Red Raiders is his second from the Big-12 joining Texas, although the status of his offer from the Longhorns may be up in the air with the departure of assistant coach Darrin Horn to Northern Kentucky. Others that have called on the talented forward since Saturday include Gonzaga, Utah, USC, Pepperdine, Portland, Eastern Washington, Princeton, Penn, Virginia, St Mary’s, Washington State, Arizona, and Princeton.
Kam Robinson (2021 Jefferson) from Montana – Earning his first scholarship offer is Robinson, who has not only remarkably changed his body and conditioning from a year ago, but has continued to develop his all-around game. That improvement has led to the early offer from Montana and other schools such as Washington State, Portland State, and Cal Baptist have been in contact.
