There are some familiar names from Washington that made the list, but there are a few new ones that have made a splash into the updated rankings. Six players are now ranked nationally from the state of Washington. See below to see who made the cut this time around!
By the numbers:
- 3 players currently rank in the top 70 nationally
- 3 new players made the top 250, as stated below
- O’Dea HS and Eastside Catholic HS each have a Prep Hoops top 250 1-2 punch
#5 2021 6’9 SF/PF Paolo Banchero (O’Dea HS) – Paolo has continued to earn his five-star status with a strong Winter and Spring season. The 3A State MVP recently won the MVP in the top 30 of the Pangos All-American Game, further solidifying himself in the top 5. When it’s all said and done, Paolo could be number one due to his outstanding consistency in any setup.
#66 2021 6’9 PF Jackson Grant (Olympia HS) – One of the biggest stock risers of the year. Jackson has been strong on the UA circuit and earned a number 66 national ranking. His three point shooting and length make him a lethal threat inside and out.
#67 2021 6’9 PF/C Kaden Perry (Battle Ground HS) – Another huge stock riser that was unknown nationally just a few months ago. Kaden has been showing off his explosiveness on the EYBL 16’s circuit with the Rose City Rebels. His recruitment is really starting to heat up now and he has all the tools to remain a top 75 player nationally.
#106 2021 6’2 PG Nolan Hickman (Eastside Catholic HS) – Nolan was previously unranked in our national rankings, but he boosted up to the 106 slot after a great spring with Seattle Rotary’s 17u team. Nolan will very likely be a top 100 player nationally by the end of his senior year, if not sooner.
#117 2021 6’6 SG/SF Shane Nowell (Eastside Catholic HS) – A name that has been more known nationally for some time now, but he still has more room for growth due to his very high ceiling. Shane has all the tools a wing player could ask for and he is focused on continuing to improve and adding to his scholarship list as he stated to Prep Hoops in a previous interview.
#139 2021 6’3 SG John Christofilis (O’Dea HS) – John really raised his stock at a California high school tourney with O’Dea in the winter, but he has been out win an injury for most of 2019. John is known for his shooting ability, but also for his all around productiveness as a scorer with his patent pull up jumper.
