I was able to attend the event all day on June 12 and I saw some top talent. Three-point shooting has become a premium in today’s game. Here’s a look at some of the top shooters I saw that day.
1. Jed Miller – Agoura 2021
A true long range gunner. Miller has the ability to shoot from anywhere on the court. His range is limitless, it extends well beyond the standard high school three-point line. He excels in spot up situations where he gets set on the arc and waits for a pass. He can also create perimeter shots for himself as well, he can hit step back threes and he can bring the ball up court and step into transition threes as well.
2. Daymon Franklin – Palmdale 2020
Another long range bomber. Franklin has range out to the NBA three-point line as well. He squares up well and lets the ball fly from range. He can move without the ball and catch the pass for spot up situations, or he can handle the ball too and shoot pull-up three point shots in transition. He can also square up and shoot from three with a defender in his face.
3. Kyle Beedon – Campbell Hall 2021
Yet another player who has unlimited range. He’s got the ability to play both guard positions. He spots up well behind the arc and puts himself in position to catch passes from his teammates. He’s got a quick release on his shot too, keeping defenders scrambling when he’s out on the perimeter.
4. Brandon Perez – Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 2022
A combo guard, Perez just completed his freshman year and will be poised for a big sophomore year. He is a good playmaker, but a deadly sharpshooter as well who also has unlimited range. As a scorer, he can create his own shot, especially on the perimeter. He can pull-up in transition from three, or he can create a shot from behind the arc off the dribble.
