Here’s a broad overview of our updated 2021 top-100 rankings, taking a look at some of the trends we’ve seen so far. Stay tuned for more in depth breakdowns of the 2021 class along with the initial 2022 rankings!

CHANGES IN THE TOP-10

Jalen Miller

Two new names are highlighted in the new top-10. Jalen Miller has been undervalued in the past, but he’s one of the best on-ball defenders you will find at his position and is clearly battle-tested after two full years of starting at the point for Bishop Walsh Head Coach Dan Prete, who plays a national schedule. Bez Mbeng the other new name, and he checks in at #8. Mbeng has been trending up for a while, but continues to show signs of improvement and his stock keeps climbing as a result.

FIVE STOCK RISERS

#13 | JULIAN REESE | 6’8 PF | ST. FRANCES | PREVIOUS RANK: 29

Reese is filling out into his body and is becoming dominant in the low post. His recruitment has really trended up as a result.

#14 | AFAMDI ACHUFUSI | 6’4 G | SIDWELL FRIENDS | PREVIOUS RANK: 30

Achufusi is an elite wing defender with a high IQ and toughness. He still has room for growth and his versatility is intriguing.

#15 | JEDY CORDILIA | 6’9 C | WEST NOTTINGHAM | PREVIOUS RANK: 26

Cordilia is relatively raw, but has considerable upside. He has size you cant teach to go along with soft hands and good coordination. 

#19 | RYAN CORNISH | 6’3 PG | SIDWELL FRIENDS | PREVIOUS RANK: 33

Cornish is a superb shooter with size and feel at the point guard position. He still has to get stronger, but that will come over time. 

#26 | AHMAD HARRISON | 6’1 G | GERSTELL ACADEMY | PREVIOUS RANK: 66

Harrison is a tenacious perimeter defender with tremendous length. He’s got a winner’s mentality and the moxie that coaches love.

DIVISION ONE SLEEPERS

#17 | DEVIN CEASER | 6’0 G | ST. MARY’S RYKEN 

Ceaser has improved considerably, and still has a lot more room to grow. His productivity during summer league speaks for itself. 

#22 | DAOUDA DEMBELE | 6’6 PF | SPRINGBROOK

Dembele currently adds value defensively, where he is a good shot blocker who is nimble enough to be effective defensively on the perimeter. He’s a relentless rebounder and a good inside finisher who can take contact. 

#27 | ABDOU SAMB | 6’8 C | FREDERICK DOUGLASS 

Samb has an intriguing skill set for his size. He can score inside out and is becoming a stronger presence on the boards.

#28 | SAVEON JACKSON | 6’0 G | KIPP

Jackson can fill a myriad of roles on both ends of the court. He plays much bigger than his listed height and is ultra competitive.

#30 | BYRON IRELAND JR. | 6’2 G | ST. FRANCES

Ireland is a downhill-type guard with a strong frame. He plays with a high motor at all times, which is one of his best qualities.
