Ryan Kalkbrenner 7’0 Trinity: The shot-blocking phenom did his normal dominant job of rim protecting as he stretched his swatting ability out to the perimeter. He scored easily in the post, but he also put in some work on the perimeter as he handled the ball quite and bit and knocked down a number of 3-pointers.
Gary Clark 6’7 Cardinal Ritter: The athletic combo forward continues to improve and stretch out his game every time he steps on the floor. He scored in the post and hit the offensive boards hard for easy put backs. We’ve seen his ability to make 15 to 17 footers off the catch, but now he has begun to knock down 3-pointers.
Isaiah Esker 6’9″ Parkway South: I like how the big fella has continued to improve over the course over the past two seasons. He’s lost some weight, but he still has that big body that he uses to his advantage in the post with his scoring and improved rebounding. He also showcased some mobility as he threw down a couple of dunks on rim runs.
Lyndell Hunt 6’4″ Confluence Prep: One of the most explosive players in the event, Hunt showcased his dunking repertoire throughout the day, whether it was in the halfcourt or in transition. He is a matchup problem as he can use his quickness and ball handling ability to beat opposing forwards off the dribble.
Brandon Ellington 6’6″ Cardinal Ritter: A hard working power forward who combines his athleticism with a blue collar work ethic. He is a tireless rebounder who does an excellent job of getting out of his area to grab boards. He has solid moves around the basket and will dunk in authority in traffic.
