Charles certainly continues to looks the part of a MM-HM prospect every time that I see him. When you first see him, being 6’8 and the ability to shoot the ball is going to be the first things to stand out, but he affects the game in a ton of different ways. He is a more than willing passer, great defender both in the paint and along the perimeter, and is getting better and better at being able to put the ball on the floor. For college coaches that are able to look carefully, they will be able to see all the different ways that Charles can affect winning.
Keon Coleman 6’4 G Opelousas Catholic 2021
This was only my second time seeing Coleman play live, and he is certainly intriguing. He has all of the tools that you would look for in a wing player. He has the size, the length, and certainly has the athleticism. He even has some skill to go along with his tools, but I’d definitely like to see his skill set improve over the next couple years. If he put in the work, he can make himself into a legitimate college prospect.
Jaden Shelvin 6’2 G St. Thomas More 2021
Shelvin is a long combo guard that does a lot on the court for his team. He is a good ball handler and can be the team’s primary ball handler at times, but really thrives off the ball. He attacks closeouts really well, and when he is able to get steam moving downhill, it’s tough to stop him. He is a really good defender, and is able to get his hands in a lot of passing lanes.
Jourdain Dishmond 6’8 F Holy Savior Menard 2021
This was my first time seeing Dishmond live in about a year or so, and I continue to be impressed by him. He is versatile, and has every bit the ability to defend smaller guards out on the wing, as well as bigs down in the paint. He does a good job of rebounding, and there aren’t many in the state that are going to be able to get a rebound over him. He has shown an extended range out to 15 ft. and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a reliable 3 point shooter by the time he graduates.
Kendrick Delayhousse 5’11 G Lafayette 2021
“KD” was another player that I didn’t get a chance to see live over the past year, but he has certainly been in the lab working on his game. He is an incredible shooter, both off the catch and off the bounce, and is one of the best shooters I have seen in his class. He is a good finisher around the rim, and is crafty at getting himself there. He is certainly an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on over the next couple years.
Martin McDowell 5’10 G Calvary Baptist 2022
Of the underclassmen, I think that McDowell was able to raise his profile the most over the weekend. I already knew that he was an elite level shooter, and in the past my only complaint was that he didn’t shoot enough. However, with D’Marcus Hall sidelined with an ankle injury, McDowell stepped up and played really well. He shot anytime he was able to get a clean look, and made more than he missed. He also showed a crafty ball handling ability and was able to shake defenders on the way to the cup.
Labree Williams 6’3 G Calvary Baptist 2022
With Williams having to sit out last season, this was my first time seeing him, and I can definitely see the intrigue in his game. He has good size for his position, is a good ball handler, can shoot it well from deep, and finishes well around the basket. There isn’t much that he can’t do on the court, and I am definitely looking forward to seeing him develop over the next few years.
