Taj Manning 6’7″ Grandview: One of the top players in the Class of 2022, Taj displayed a versatile skill set complete with low post moves and perimeter jumpers. He has good quickness and footwork in the post, where he can score going over his left or right shoulder. He has the ability to score off the dribble-drive and knock down 3-pointers off the catch. He was a starter and key player for Grandview’s Class 4 state championship team.
Ike Ezeogu 6’5″ Blue Springs: A very active Class of 2022 power forward who was very productive on Friday with his high motor and toughness around the basket. He stayed in attack mode in both games I watched and got buckets with tough drives and good finishes. He was a very capable rebounder at both ends.
Marcus Tart 6’5″ Warrensburg: A 2021 forward who was excellent during the day with his low post play. He has a big body and good fundamentals around the basket. He had good, strong post ups and good footwork, plus he knew how to use head and shoulder fakes to keep defenders off balance. He is a very good prospect on the football field, which is his first sport.
Eli Wingert 6’7″ Blue Springs: A tall and lanky 2021 power forward who has good length and mobility and he used both of those attributes to his advantage on the defensive end, where he was a very effective shot blocker and rebounder. He ran the court well and can catch the ball in traffic.
Kardell Sims 6’5″ St. Joe Lafayette: A versatile combo forward who displayed a nice skilled set during the day. He is a comfortable ball handler who had some solid takes to the basket to go along with his ability to shoot the ball from 3-point range.
Max Whisner 6’6″ Lee’s Summit: A strong 2022 power forward who plays a very solid game around the basket. He’s young, but he has a physical presence inside with his ability to score and grab rebounds. He is also a very capable passer as well.
Kyle Bond 6’6″ Eugene: A young 2021 post player who was very effective around the basket. He was a solid rebounder and he didn’t try to do much offensively. He scored off teammate’s dribble penetration and he had some good offensive putbacks.
