As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class.
Shawn Hendershot, 6’3, G, 2020, Blue Valley North
A smart team first player who brings a great work ethic and a knowledge of the game to the floor. He takes pride in defensive matchups and works hard to shut opponents down and defending taller players. he is more than capable of knocking down 3-pointers and can back his opponents up and score inside as well.
Tyce Hoover, 6’4, G, 2020, Manhattan
Hoover is great at moving without the ball and plays great half court offense. He can score extremely well inside the paint and bounces around and shows great footwork on the move. He’s a reliable defender and a tough kid to shake.
Austin Hashagen, 6’2, G, 2020, Olathe West
He’s a tough guard who doesn’t ask for much. he brings great intensity to both ends of the floor and is good at the little things. He’s hungry for the ball around the glass and is a great rebounder and is good at selling contact a drawing a lot of fouls. His outside shot is improving and he’s looking stronger all the time.
Connor Younger, 5’9, 2020 Bashor, Team KC Black 17u
A very good point guard who has a nose for the ball and openings for himself. He’s a stylish player and has a flashy game and through his passing and one-on-one isolation. He can get defenders to bite the bait and can then pull it back and knock down a jumper. Younger is definitely impressing this summer.
Alex Mack, 6’2, G, 2020, Lansing
Mack is an underrated shooting guard who has a quick step and downhill speed. He is a confident shooter and has great form in a clean release. he can secure a defensive rebound and go coast-to-coast all the way to the basket or he can stop mid-range and pull up for a jumper.
