As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2020 class
Eastyn Ruffin Eastyn Ruffin 5'8" | PG Wichita Northwest | 2020 State KS , 5’8, G, 2020, Northwest
An excellent player with the ball who can create his own shot or get his teammates open looks. He is very quick and has nice handles and can put his shoulder down and get to the basket. He has a good deep ball and is confident shooting. Definitely and underrated guard who has a lot of fire in his game.
Kaden Krause, 5’10, G, 2020, Halstead
Krause has a nice energy to his game and can come alive on the offensive side in a flash. He has a confidence to his game and is good at finding his stroke from distance. He can handle it some and has the game to run the show, but he’s been counted on to put the ball in the basket as well for a rising Halstead squad.
Ty Martin, 5’11, G, 2020, Remington
Martin does a bit of everything for Remington. He is athletic and defends well on the perimeter and inside where he’s asked to play against taller players. He jumps well and has quick hands. He gets up the floor well and can come away with steals and other defensive stops. He quickly gets the ball in the hands of ball handlers and can score around the glass.
Joe Blake, 6’0, G, 2020, Hutchinson
A nice guard with a thin frame and a solid basketball IQ. He is good with the ball and can take his time and create something for himself. He has long arms and a high release and a clean floater. He can shoot some and has the ability to create for others as well and he is a solid passer across the board.
Zion Jones, G, 6’0, 2020, Northwest
Another guard for Northwest who has good size and can score well for his age. He has a nice shot and works hard on the defensive end of the floor. He can play physical on either side and gets inside to rebound some. he can play point at times but operates more is a wing or shooter who earns his stripes by staying active and looking to adapt and getting on the board.
