As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2021 class
Miles Cole, 6’8, PF/C, 2021, Blue Valley
Cole gets a lot of touches through his tireless effort on the floor. He brings a nice combination of height and skill to the floor and is very active on both ends as he looks to block shots and make smart passes as well as score when given the chance. He might be best as an offensive rebounder. A player who can clean up plays and finish while getting to the free-throw line.
Jackson Lewis, 6’7, F, 2021, Shawnee Mission South
A do everything kind of player with great height and a long and rangy frame. He brings skill to the floor and can handle some for himself inside. He runs the floor well and is a great rebounder on both ends and can score some in the paint and also connect from distance if he has the opening and is feeling confident.
Drew Nicholson, 6’4, F, 2021, Holsington
A skilled wing player who has a lean frame and can defend multiple positions. He has a lot of upside to his game and is looking better on the offensive end every time he has the ball in his hands. He can choose the three with range and can put his head down and attack the basket and score through contact.
Andrew Orr, 6’7, F, 2021, Blue Valley North
A solid post player who makes great decisions with the ball in his hands. he moves well through the lane and can get his shots off while defenders are all around him. He pound the ball in the paint and is graded taking advantage of mismatches and scoring quickly when he’s given the ball. A turn and face the basket player who can shoot well and get the bounce.
Colin Schreiber, 6’3, F, 2021, Salina South
A nice wing-type player who can crash the basket and elevate. He has good athleticism and shows poise with the ball and good intuition when to let it fly from distance. He finishes well in transition and brings hustle and physical play to both ends when the game calls for it.
