I don’t list a player in my rankings unless I have seen him play and more than 90 percent of the kids in the database have a photo. Lets take a look at a few kids I was familiar with but have just never saw play in person until this past weekend at the NCAA Team Camp in Columbia.
[player_tooltip player_id="843589" first="Harry" last="Cash"]Harry Cash Harry Cash 6'5" | SF May River | 2020 State SC (2020) – May River HS (Bluffton)
Cash 6’5 a long and slender forward really liked to have the ball in his hands at all times. Cash preferred to play face up to the basket and really excelled in the transition game for the Sharks. Cash was able to finish around the basket at times but still must get stronger for the next level. Cash was a All-Region performer last season for the Sharks.
[player_tooltip player_id="843597" first="Quinton" last="Brown"]Quinton Brown Quinton Brown 6'3" | SF Columbia | 2020 State SC (2020) – Columbia HS
Brown was a very pleasant surprise for the Capitals. Brown plays on the Grassroots Circuit with the Metro Wolves a Columbia based organization. Brown connected on some mid-range jumpers along with extending the defense today with a handful of three pointers. Brown was great in the passing lanes with several deflections.
Nana Burris Nana Burris 5'11" | PG Byrnes | 2021 State SC (2021) – Byrnes HS (Duncan) (pictured on front)
Burris excels on the football field for the Runnin Rebels with on the hardwood. Burris really does well on the defensive end of the ball. Burris took part in the SCHSL Top 100 Camp on Sunday.
Corey Speights (2020) – Stall HS (North Charleston)
The Warriors will be in a rebuilding mode this season under Head Coach Michael Breedlove. Speights 5’10 guard is also the Quarterback on the football team. Speights showed great body control today getting the ball to the rack. Speights was able to finish on contact while slashing to the basket.
[player_tooltip player_id="927541" first="A.J." last="Knight"]A.J. Knight A.J. Knight 5'10" | PG Chapin | 2021 State SC (2021) – Dutch Fork HS (Irmo)
Knight 5’10 strong point guard was really solid for the Silver Foxes today. Knight seemed to load up his shot a bit from by his head. Knight was able to capitalize with some floaters in the lane and had a few nice pull-up jumpers. Knight showed to be very effective from the mid-range game today along with creating his own shot.
Luis MartinezLuis Martinez (2020) – Richland Northeast HS
Martinez 5’6 was one of the senior leaders for the Cavaliers team. Martinez was a feisty guard who really brought some great energy to this young team for Head Coach JoJo English. Martinez connected on some perimeter jumpers and just brought steady play to the floor at all times.
