The premier event in the state of Illinois for the first live period of June 21-23 will be the Riverside Brookfield Summer Shootout. We have already given you the schedule now it is time to breakdown some of the players to watch at the event. We close out our examination with the post prospects who will be participating!
The 2020 big men begin with the premier center in the state Martice Mitchell. The Bloom center is a new age five man who can stretch the floor with his shooting while still blocking shots. Face up fours Ryan Isaacson (Hinsdale Central) and Bennett Kwiecinski (Loyola) are being monitored by D1 programs. Armond Williams (East St. Louis) and RJ Ogom (Homewood Flossmoor) are two posts who have helium after a strong spring.
Four of the top post players in the 2021 class will also be playing. They are led by the best post prospect in Schaumburg center Chris Hodges (Schaumburg). He is coming off a great showing during the spring and you can expect a lot of coaches tracking him. Grant Newell (Whitney Young) is the best power forward in the class with his ability to shoot it and quickness around the hoop. A pair of strong bodied five men who should be monitored are Scottie Ebube (Mundelein) and Brian Mathews (DePaul Prep).
Also worth an early look are a pair of top 5 2022 prospects in Kyle Thomas (St. Joseph) and Robbie Avila (Oak Forest).
