The premier event in the state of Illinois for the first live period of June 21-23 will be the Riverside Brookfield Summer Shootout. We have already given you the schedule now it is time to breakdown some of the players to watch at the event. We begin with the point guards.
There will be a strong group of floor generals in the 2020 class on hand. In all the tournament will feature 18 lead guards ranked in the Top 150 overall prospects in the PrepHoopsIllinois Rankings. It is headlined by three in the top 10 in DJ Steward (Whitney Young), Ahron Ulis (Marian Catholic), and Tyler Beard (Whitney Young). A few other projected D1 rising seniors to watch include Ray’Sean Taylor (Collinsville), Beau Frericks (Cary Grove), and Donovan Newby (Bloom).
There will be quite a few highly ranked young point guards that will be there led by 2021’s top two point guards Anthony Sayles (Niles Notre Dame) and Jaehshon Thomas (Whitney Young) along with the best 2022 guard in the state Jaylen Drane (Simeon).
