The Lincoln guard/wing group is talented, it helped the Patriots put 17 wins in the book during the regular season. That said, much of that talent moved on. While they were winning games this year Kesean was leading the JV team to several blowout victories with big number scoring games. Now it’s time for Kesean to bring that talent to the varsity, and he’s looking forward to it.
“Our team looks good,” Ladd said. “We got a lot of shooters and can push the pace. Also we’ve been together all for years so our chemistry will be really good.”
Ladd will spend time getting better with this Lincoln teammates and of course working in the gym on his own to improve. There are also more events to be played with SD Network.
“My plans for the summer are:
“1. I gotta get stronger so lifting everyday and staying in the weight room to get stronger.
“2. Get shots up and work on my handles.
“3. Be focused at practice to not only get myself better but also the team.”
Kesean has the right mindset. He’s also got a specific plan to become more versatile, “I have to improve on my right hand and also have to keep working on my pull up jumper.”
The pull-up jumper finished with the lefty touch has been quite impressive this season.
“A lefty point guard that is going off. Big time pull up jumper from three!” Prep Hoops analyst Scotty Burgess said.
“Led his team to the 53-48 win over TS Wolverines. Ladd played well at PG and clinched the game with four free throws” is what Prep Hoops writer Grant Matheny said about Ladd.
In watching Ladd and the Network in Battle at the Lakes, I also saw Ladd drop in four pull-up jumpers in a loss to an Illinois squad. The talent is there and Ladd has made memories playing with this team.
“Our game against Omaha elite,” said Ladd of a top highlight. “We didn’t have a coach so we had to fight and play smarter. We lost that game but it was fun to fight it out and it also made us better chemistry wise and physically.”
