Recruiting Report: Justin Lewis (2020)
Justin Lewis has established himself as one of the best power forwards in the country, and his recruitment certainly reflects this. The two-time state champ spoke with Prep Hoops about his overall game and much more while at Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville last week. Below is a transcript of the interview.
PH: Who do you model your game after?
JL: “AD. He’s a stretch big who can do it all. That’s kind of what I want to do. I don’t want to limit my game, I want to be free.”
PH: How was your recent visit to Marquette?
JL: “The visit went well. I loved it. I was having bad thoughts about going there as far as distance, but the visit there changed my whole mindset. I had a fun with the guys time and I like the basketball too.”
PH: Any visits coming up for you?
JL: “Probably Virginia Tech and UConn. Probably Tennessee, and definitely Seton Hall.”
PH: What intrigues you about Virginia Tech?
JL: “They got a new coach, and I know the assistant there. I kind of keep in contact with him.”
PH: What’s the message been from UConn?
JL: “They came up to my high school during open runs to kind of let me know I’m on their board. I want to visit and see how it is.”
PH: When you go on these visits, what do you look for? What are the important factors that help you feel comfortable?
JL: “Is it the best fit? Do they play my game? Is it somewhere I want to be for the next four years?”
PH: What other schools have you visited?
JL: “Maryland and UCF.”
PH: Where does Maryland stand in your recruitment right now?
JL: “They’re definitely on my radar. It’s hometown, I talk to Coach Bino (Ranson) every day.”
PH: When do you see yourself making your final decision?
JL: “Maybe the beginning of my senior year. Just so I don’t have to worry at the end of the year about where I’m going.”
