“Geography doesn’t really affect me at all,” Garcia said in terms of where he would like to live in college. “I like nice weather, but also with being from Minnesota, winter doesn’t bother me at all. Four seasons don’t affect me. Being far away from home, being close, it doesn’t matter. It’s just about my relationships with the coaching staff and how comfortable I feel around the school.”
Garcia was also asked about what type of player he is and he provided a big time example “Probably a combination of Chris Bosh and Kevin Durant.” He further explained… “I can guard one through five as well as put the ball on the floor. I shoot it well. I’m going to keep getting stronger. That’s one thing I’m working on a lot.”
As far as schools go, Dawson talked about several:
Indiana: “They came to my house for the in-home visit. They showed me film on how they would use me, and I could really see myself playing in that style. It was cool to see all the success guys like me have had there.”
Garcia discussed what he likes about IU and how IU plays.
“Just how they use their bigs, how they allow them to play versatile. They can step out, handle it, shoot it, slash, post up,” Garcia said.
Kentucky: “My level of interest is high. It’s a great program. They get guys to the league right away. When they came to my school and talked to me, they said that Kentucky isn’t for everybody, and that’s true. It shows when you go to Kentucky, you have to love basketball or it’s going to be a living hell for your.
Marquette: “It was a good experience (Dawson said of his visit). They were saying they’d bring me in and it would be built around me. I would kind of run the show and bring everyone in. When I went there, I built a great relationship with Wojo and the coaches and the players as well because I got to hang out with them.”
Minnesota: “I have a great relationship with Kyle Lindsted and Richard Pitino especially. They came to my house. I’m going to go on a couple of unofficial visits there, hang out with them a couple times.”
North Carolina: “They’ve talked to me recently. Hubert Davis was telling me congrats on all my recent accomplishments and continue to do my thing, and he’s excited to watch me coming up.”
