Rainier Beach Star On the Move
Rainier Beach’s team was at the Franklin Quaker Slam this weekend, but one of their players was not and that was 2020 6’6 SG Marjon Beauchamp. Marjon was attending the Pangos All-American Camp in California, as expected this last weekend. One rumor that was buzzing around the gym was Marjon will to be transferring for his final season of high school basketball. It has been confirmed to Prep Hoops that the rumor is indeed true.
The reigning MVP of the Metro League will be attending Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona. Bella Vista attracts talent from all around the country and even internationally. Head Coach Kyle Weaver has coached multiple pros including Marvin Bagley and Deandre Ayton during his three year tenure at Arizona powerhouse, Hillcrest Prep. Arizona high school basketball is becoming a go-to destination for top prospects and the shoe companies have recognized this as well. Bella Vista Prep has an endorsement deal with Puma. Weaver’s former players, Marvin Bagley and Deandre Ayton, are both under contract with Puma as well. Marjon appears to be excited about the move to Bella Vista per an interview with Instagram account Recruiting Only.
Marjon has mentioned that becoming a McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand Classic All-American are both important goals for him. He feels that Bella Vista will help him achieve those goals, along with aiding in his recruitment process. Marjon started his high school career at Nathan Hale, transferred to Garfield for his sophomore season and then moved to Rainier Beach for his breakout junior year. As far as his club team situation, he will finish out the summer on the adidas circuit with ML20. He will be playing this weekend at the Annual Rose City Showcase in Portland, OR.
