Playing for a Olathe North program that is losing a lot of seniors to graduation, rising sophomore guard Quentin Mason is hoping to be the next man up for the Eagles.
A smooth shooting 5’11 2021 guard, Mason played in four varsity games last season for North but is hoping to put together a breakout junior season after a strong summer running with KC Premiere Blue Chips.
Mason is a high IQ guard who can shoot from the outside, plays hard and likes to share the ball.
He says running with KC Premiere has helped prepare him for the upcoming season.
“This summer has gone very well,” he says. “We play hard and believe we can compete with anyone. This has prepared me for the high school season by knowing my strengths and weaknesses.
“This offseason I have been working on my shooting and ball handling along with lifting weights and getting stronger.”
Mason says the biggest influence in his basketball career to date has been his parents, coaches and trainers.
A fan of basketball at any level, Mason says he enjoys watching players who compete.
“I enjoy watching all high level basketball because I like seeing people compete and playing hard,” he says. “ Something I have implemented in my game is being able to handle adversity.”
