Prospect Spotlight: Juan Bell (2021)
There’s no question that Paint Branch lead guard Juan Bell has a lot of talent. This summer, we’ve seen Bell show a new side of his game: three point shooting. Through the first five games at , he’s shooting nearly 43% from long range.
“I’ve improved at shooting the ball, and I’m scoring the ball better,” said Bell. “But I’m just really trying to make my team better and become a leader.”
Bell was inspired to play basketball by his uncle, Delonte Taylor, who is a retired NBA player who suited up for the Spurs and the Bullets.
“He was a point guard too,” Bell stated. “I just followed the trend. He trained me. He just pushed me every day to be better than him.”
Kyrie Irving is a current player that Bell says he enjoys watching. He likes how Irving scores and can control the flow of his team. It should be noted that Bell is a good student with a 3.2 GPA. He says that school comes first, and his ultimate goal is to make it to college.
What can Bell add to a college program down the road?
“Being a point guard really. Score when it’s needed. Get my team involved more. Still working on that too. Just becoming a leader really.”
