“I have played four AAU tournaments with the North Dakota Attack and I have two more left,” Andre said. “I go to Monday a night league in Grand Forks and I have a morning agility and strength training Monday through Thursday.”
In addition to building strength and agility for football, Carrier is also training for his final basketball season.
“I want to play either college football or basketball and I’m undecided in what I want to pursue for academics,” said before his commitment to NDSU. I feel I’ve worked pretty hard to get where I am at for both sports.
“In high school I play football, basketball, golf, and I will be doing track next year. For hoops I’m working on ball handling, pull up mid range game, finishing at the rim, and off the dribble and set shot threes, post moves. I like work on as much as I can to improve myself as an all around player.”
The 6-foot-5, 195 pound wideout/corner as well as forward had several options before deciding to be a Bison football player.
“For football there (was) Minnesota State-Moorhead, NDSU, U of Mary, Minnesota-Crookston, North Dakota, Minot State and for basketball I had a couple camp invites.”
Cavalier was 14-8 a season ago with their eyes on improvement.
“Our high school team lost a couple solid players but we still are looking pretty good, we are going to need some of the young guys to step up and play some good minutes on varsity which I know they are capable of,” Andre told PHD. “We will not have many seniors playing but we are going to use what we have and make the most of it.”
Another part of Andre’s summer is finishing up his time playing with the North Dakota Attack. Carrier plays for the North Dakota Attack Green team that is 13-8 on the season and has two events coming up in Sioux Falls.
“Our AAU squad started out kind of slow but we have been starting to come together better as a team and moving the ball and getting good shots. Playing AAU has really improved me each year just from all the strong competition and different coaches I’ve had and learned from.”
