PG Mikey Williams (San Diego, CA – 2023)
This was my first look at the much hyped incoming freshman from California. The point guard didn’t look fazed playing against the best of the best from around the country. Crisp ball handler that got to the rim for a couple acrobatic finishes and hit a deep three.
SF Dalen Terry (Hillcrest Prep, AZ – 2020)
This long and rangy wing brought a ton of energy to the table. Was very active flying in for offensive rebounds and tip backs. Played well with the ball in his hands early in the game. Got out in transition for several finishes. Versatility to play and defend multiple positions across the board.
C JT Thor (Huntington Prep, WV – 2021)
The top 10 caliber 2021 prospect showed why on Saturday. Great height and length for the center position. His mobility at his size is very impressive. Runs the floor fluidly. Threw down several big dunks. Hit a three with his lefty stroke. Also had an explosive take from the mid-post for a dunk. Defensively and on the glass he is a complete game changer!
SF Cade Cunningham (Montverde, FL – 2020)
This point-forward from Montverde is one of the best playmakers in the country with the ball in his hands. The one play we saw that defines him as a player is when he snatched a defensive rebound, went coast to coast, and dished it off for an assist. Elite level passer who works well in the pick and roll. Throws bullet passes off dribble penetration. Rebounds well for his position. Plus shooter as he drilled a pull up three.
PG Frankie Collins (AZ Compass Prep, AZ – 2021)
First evaluation of Collins and I came away liking what this lead guard brings to the table. Won consistently off dribble with his slick handles. Got to the rim where he finished well. Athletic guard who makes plays in the lane.
PF Lance Ware (Camden, NJ – 2020)
Many of the feeds from Cunningham went to this east coast big man. Ware is a mobile four man that works well in the pick and roll. Can handle it from the mid-post area in. Quick around the hoop. Runs the floor very well. High activity level out of Ware.
SF Obinna Anyanwu (Cathedral Catholic, CA – 2021)
We first saw this small forward at Elite 100 last summer and continue to be impressed. Power wing that has an excellent mid-range game. Knocked down quite a few pull up jumpers from 15 feet and seemed to always be on the glass or near the basketball!
C Moussa Diabate (DME Academy, FL – 2021)
What a performance from this Florida post. The top 10 national recruit in the 2021 class runs the floor so well and when he is rewarded Diabate throws down huge slams! High level rim protector as well. He combined those two on one play where he swatted a shot, sprinted the length of the court, posted up, and dunked it hard. Shows improved skill on a shake move out of the post along with driving past his man for a layup. Finished well through contact.
C Franck Kepnang (Westtown School, PA – 2021)
This 6’11” center is one of my favorite big men in the 2021 class. Grown man on the interior that is a superior rebounder even against fellow high-major competition. He is a great offensive rebounder that gets second chance points off his energy. Dunked it almost like he is trying to tear the rim down! Physical post defender.
SF Micah Peavy (Duncanville, TX – 2020)
This Texas small forward is a long and smooth athlete on the wing. Showed off a feathery mid-range jumper early in the game off a dribble handoff. The rest of the game he was in attack mode getting downhill for and-1s on layups. Also had a monster jam in the open floor. Ultra smooth scoring wing!
PG Skyy Clark (Heritage Christian, CA – 2022)
First look at the heralded 2022 point guard from California. He played with a lot of poise against older competition. High level passer that dished it with flair. Overall made sound decisions with the basketball. As a scorer he knocked in a couple acrobatic conversions in the lane including a runner.
PG AJ Hoggard (Huntington Prep, WV – 2020)
Big bodied point guard that has improved his handles a lot. That was shown on a double cross behind his back that he finished with an and-1. Crisp pull up jump shooter knocking them down from mid-range and three. Sound passer that found others.
SF Josh Hall (Moravian Prep, NC – 2020)
Like the projectability with this long and rangy wing. Seems to just glide to the hoop when the ball is in his hands. Excelled in transition when he had a head of steam behind him for smooth drives and displayed solid form on a corner three.
