Around 100 players from all over the country got invited to the 17th annual camp.
Many prospects try to get in the camp via social media, email or have someone tell the head director how good there prospect is. It’s a tough position to be in, but at the end of the day, it’s always a competitive talent with loads of talent!
Some have that look of possible future NBA players or look like they will have top-end college careers in the near future.
Arizona had 7 invited with 6 of them attending.
Osasere Ighodaro (Desert Vista) was out with a wrist injury.
Here are some notes on the 6:
Dalen Terry PG 6’6 190 2020 Hillcrest Prep
-Terry has an elite feel for the game and is a big time passer/play-maker. He is very creative. Many times you think he is driving to score but in reality he is setting up the defense to make a play for a teammate. He is constantly talking the entire game. He has that dog mentality to not want to lose and is the ultra competitor. He has that Magic Johnson personality/charisma as he is always smiling and his teammates love him. His shooting ability has advanced and his athleticism keeps improving at only 16 years old. His mid-range pull-up off dribble is a weapon and he was hitting a few step back 3’s. His catch 3 has become way better and his shot in general has come full circle. He also seems to make big plays at crucial times in games. His length on defense bothers his opponents and he does need to get stronger but his upside is just as high as anyone at the entire camp. He will jump up to #1 in the next go around of the 2020 AZ rankings and don’t be surprised to see his name come up in the McDonald’s AA Game discussions.
Kyree Walker SF 6’5 215 2020 Hillcrest Prep
-Thick scoring wing who is an exceptional passer and loves getting downhill in traffic. He is an improving 3pt shooter and can pull-up from mid-range off the dribble. He can create separation to score it. He can obviously dunk the ball but doesn’t have to rely on that anymore in his game. His strength, IQ for the game and improving skill makes him attractive. He also showed the big media how good he is and can be. There are not many players like him out there and the big programs see that as he plays hard on every possession. He will be another name that will come up in the McDonald’s AA Game discussions.
Fallou Diagne C/PF 6’11 210 2020 Tri-City
-Big time shooter for his height. Has an easy 3pt stroke and seems like every shot is good. He does tend to settle for perimeter jumpers at times but once his motor is revved up he is very good on the glass. He is highly skilled near the rim when he is in the paint. He handles the ball and can dunk the ball easily. He has good hands and is an unselfish player with high upside.
Diagne had one of the better shooting strokes for all the bigs at the camp.Michael Foster C 6’9 237 2021 Hillcrest Prep
-Physical specimen with an unreal body. Jumps really high off the ground and can explode to rebound the ball with two hands. He is a tad raw offensively but he has a pro body, great length, quick twitch reflexes and shows you signs of becoming a special player. His upside is clearly high and he’ll look great next to Walker and Terry.
Foster about to terrorize the AZ rims with all his impressive dunks.Frankie Collins PG 6’1 175 2021 AZ Compass Prep
-Strong and athletic pass first PG. He is an elite passer whose jumper has come around in the last year. He is strong and has a good hesi to get to the basket. His crossover is tight and likes the contact. He is good with left and prefers to dunk with it more than his dominant right hand. His pull-up from mid to the 3 keeps improving. Has that winning attitude.
Sadraque Nganga SF 6’9 200 2022 AZ Compass Prep
-Talented rising soph with great length who handles it well. He is a good 3pt shooter and plays an unselfish style of play. He is a very good passer and has great length to rebound the ball and block shots. He is a fluid athlete and shows great upside for a rising soph.
Nganga has a very unique game.
