Sam Godwin 2020 Southmoore Post
Godwin is a D1 player without a doubt in my mind. A high school format fits Godwin’s game better, which bodes well for him in college. Rebounding the basketball is where Godwin makes his name heard the loudest. Of course, tomahawk thunderous jams from Godwin ring pretty loud too. The versatility of Godwin on defense being able to bang inside but also step out and defend wings on the perimeter when switches come is impressive. If Godwin gets the ball inside within 10-12 feet I’m putting my money on something positive happening. Godwin is every bit of 6’8 and has put on a ton of muscle compared to last year around this time. Godwin will open a ton of eyes if he continues on the tear he is on.
Jordan Thompson 2020 Southmoore Point Guard
Thompson has some underdog mentality to his game. You can tell he always plays with a chip on his shoulder. Thompson can shoot the ball lights out from distance with deep range. Over the past year, he has improved a lot passing the ball, especially in pick and roll scenarios. Thompson has also added to his ball handling arsenal with many different moves to get him open looks going to the basket. The confidence of Thompson on the court carries Southmoore as a team rubbing off on his teammates.
Caden Fry 2022 Owasso Rams Post
This is a guy I am super excited to see grow over the next few years on the court. Fry is every bit of 6’7 already with skills to be a good rebounder, scorer and a versatile defender. Rebounding is where Fry is good each time out on the floor. What makes Fry tough to defend is he can score it very well in multiple ways. Fry can score on the block using his athleticism as well as use his jumper to do damage. As he goes I’d like to see his jumper extend from 15 out behind the arc consistently. Fry could be a D1 stretch four depending on how he continues to develop. One thing is for sure there is good potential in Fry.
Cooper Bates 2020 Bishop McGuinness Wing
Bates did not see action for the Irish last year, which will surprise most when they see him play. Bates will be the go-to guy of this team IF he is willing to step up. The skill set he posses set him up to shine in the system of the Irish. He can score in the catch and shoot opportunities from distance or dazzle off the bounce with quick moves to get him space to shoot. Bates is also willing to play hard defense. When he is locked in on defense he is making plays in the passing lanes, taking charges, and doing his best to stay with his man. Bates is going to be a good get for a small college in the 2020 Class.
Brock Davis 2020 Holland Hall Forward
Davis is a prospect we always thought might grow to 6’7 that just never has. However, at the high school level in Class 4A Davis is the perfect big man. He moves fluidly on the court using his speed to get around bigger guys down low. Davis is a skilled rebounder and defender inside. Over the weekend Davis surprised some with some pretty impressive blocks using his hops, which have improved. The hustle he brings inside helps him to snag a ton of loose ball rebounds. Holland Hall will key upon Davis this next year to lead them back to the Class 4A State Tournament. The NCAA D2 level is going to be the perfect fit for Davis.
JJ White 2021 Norman North Point Guard
The spring White posted was one to note going into Team Camp season. White scored the ball well at all three levels, most notably with a smooth jumper. White has lots of room to grow with the potential to turn into a D1 prospect. The level of college is going to come down to his work ethic going forward.
