But nevertheless, we’re taking care of clearing up any confusion about the players with our two-part preview (read Part I here).
The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association has a website, too. They explain selection process, the run of the event, and have published a list of all participants, colleges attending, and team rosters. It’s all right there in those orange links.
Anyways, let’s get back to doing what we do best and talk prospects:
Shooters
Connor O’Toole (2020) | 6-3 G | Gilmour Academy | #43 | Team 1: High-IQ 3-point sniper that uses shot fakes and jab steps to get into the second level and make plays.
BJ Busbee (2021) | 6-2 SG | Benedictine | #34 | Team 2: Well-rounded scorer whose outside shooting threat sets up his straight line driving game. Thick guard. Flashes a shifty handle and upside to become more of a creator.
Luke Powell (2020) | 6-3 SG | Barnesville | #44 | Team 2: High volume scorer from Eastern Ohio equally confident shooting triples off the bounce or from a stand-still. Good positional size.
Colby Cross (2020) | 5-11 PG | Cedarville | #7 | Team 4: Score-minded lead guard. Relies on 3-pointers and runners in the middle of lane to get buckets. Athletically limited, sure, but he knows how to change pace.
Jhaiden Wilson (2021) | 5-7 G | Cardinal Stritch | #9 | Team 4: Outrageously quick volume scorer with obvious size limitations that affect him on defense. Shoots with range and likes to pull-up after attacking downhill for one or two dribbles. Confident.
Brock Unger (2021) | 6-5 PF | Berne Union | #113 | Team 5: Finds opportunity to launch his outside jumper as a trailer and in the pick and pop. Big body and occasionally flashes a skilled inside scoring package.
Jake Younkin (2020) | 6-3 G | CHCA | #45 | Team 7: Confident shooter with elite range who continues to progress as a creator. Likes to involve forwards when he runs the offense. Chippy competitor.
Carter Gray (2020) | 6-4 | SG | Arcanum | #49 | Team 7: Shooting specialist with good positional height.
Grant Whisman (2020) | 6-7 PF | Middletown Madison | #62 | Team 8: Aggressive stretch four with picturesque shooting mechanics. Effective shot-fake-and-attack game where he likes to dribble into his crafty mid-post game.
Henry Hinkle (2021) | 6-0 PG | Olentangy Liberty | #13 | Team 10: Heady lead guard who is best as a playmaker when attacking a closeout from the wing. Takes care of the ball.
Slashers
Quinn Corna (2022) | 6-3 SG | Upper Arlington | #22 | Team 1: Well-rounded scorer with “go-to guy” upside. Finishes through contact.
Mark Wise (2020) | 6-4 G | Deer Park | #108 | Team 5: Strong guard that uses a big frame to power through defenders for finishes and drive-and-kick assists. Leader. Defends all backcourt positions.
Qian Magwood (2020) | 5-10 PG | Walnut Ridge | #5 | Team 6: Two-sport prospect (football) with the confidence of a lion. Shifty ball-handler who never comes out of attack mode. Creative finishing package.
AJ Adams (2021) | 6-4 SF | Findlay | #46 | Team 7: This multi-positional defender provides rebounding and interior scoring. Attacks with straight line drives and shows the ability to change speeds on subtle crossovers. Not flashy. Terrific mid-post game against guards.
DeAirius Randle-Barker (2020) | 6-0 G | Princeton | #102 | Team 8: Electric lead guard with an athletic build and ball-handling prowess. Shoots it well from distance off the catch.
Demari Martin (2021) | 6-5 SF | Winton Woods | #73 | Team 9: Intriguing wing that can get to the basket and has all of the tools to be an elite defender.
Shammah Scott (2020) | 6-2 SG | Shaker Heights | #39 | Team 10: Skilled mid-range shot creator. Side-to-side handle that involves changes of speed and direction to get space for his rhythm pull-up.

Keaton Turner (2020) | 6-0 PG | Coffman | #105 | Team 3: A three-level scoring lead guard who continues to rapidly improve.
DJ Moore (2022) | 6-3 G | Worthington Christian | #68 | Team 7: Athletically built combo guard who relentlessly attacks the basket and can finish. Creates high-percentage inside to outside 3-point looks for teammates with the drive-and-kick.
Ramelle Arnold (2021) | 5-10 PG | Warrensville Heights | #1 | Team 9: Tight, shifty handle with a low dribble who knows how to slip past defenders. Upside as a creator as Arnold can truly get to any spot on the floor.
Jaden Hameed (2021) | 5-11 PG | VASJ | #8 | Team 9: Elite poise and IQ. As a scorer, Hameed elevates his game in crunch time. Manages games and knows how to keep everyone involved before taking over. Impactful defender at the point of attack. Strong body. Quick hands.
Collin Albert (2021) | 6-0 G | Lutheran East | #11 | Team 9: Quick guard with finishing ability that can play either guard spot.
Quentin Richardson (2020) | 6-0 PG | Holy Name | #103 | Team 9: Fast ball-handler with playmaking ability in transition and halfcourt. Likes to push pace. Keeps his dribble alive in the lane and underneath the basket, forcing defenses to sink before zinging passes around the arch. Slight of frame.
Luke Chicone (2021) | 5-11 PG | Mentor | #6 | Team 10: Instinctual playmaker with vision and elite outside shooting ability. Makes good decisions and finishes extremely well for a guy of his size. Wicked quick with the ball.
Bigs
Caleb Terry (2020) | 6-10 C | Alexander | #66 | Team 1: Rim protector with promising agility at 6-foot-10. Runs the floor, blocks shots with length, and flashes scoring touch on simple catch-and-finish moves.
Brent Darby Jr. (2020) | 6-6 PF | Garfield Heights | #51 | Team 2: Strong-bodied forward who drifts between stretching the floor and using his size for interior buckets — solid at both.
Jonathan Manning (2020) | 6-6 PF | Midview | #53 | Team 2: Fundamentally sound footwork and rebounding ability makes Manning a factor on the offensive glass as a put-back guy. Moves well.
Jackson Ames (2020) | 6-11 C | West Clermont | #84 | Team 2: Miami (OH) commit. Gifted with elite size and a strong body that he uses to dominate matchups in the low-post.
Christian Parker (2020) | 6-6 PF | GlenOak | #54 | Team 3: Versatile forward with ball skills that can face-up and score. Impacts the game as a screener. Defends in space and can show against ball-handlers when he switches on the pick and roll.
Troy Scowden (2022) | 6-7 PF/C | Buckeye Valley | #118 | Team 4: Lean athlete who excites with his combination of power and skill. Second efforts on the glass but he can also face-up for a straight line drive or 3-pointer. Doesn’t appear to have a ton of growth potential but he will add muscle.
Skyler Schmidt (2021) | 6-7 PF | Clermont Northeastern | #83 | Team 5: Rebounding extraordinaire who tracks balls and runs through opponents in the paint. Wide frame and strong upper body. Scores mostly on put-backs. Light feet.
Tyrese Hughey (2021) | 6-7 PF | Thomas Worthington | #61 | Team 8: A weapon diving to the rim for thunderous two-handed finishes that can either rise above defenders or spin off bodies for skilled finishes. Shows impressive lateral quickness when he switches onto guards and wings.
Nehemiah Benson (2020) | 6-6 PF | Lutheran East | #115 | Team 8: Skilled scorer with length and enough athleticism to play at the Division I level. Shoots it well and provides offense with his back to the basket in the low- to mid-post. Steady, good body language.
Hayden Stone (2020) | 6-8 C | Carey | #120 | Team 8: Stone has a thick build equipped for physical battles in the paint. Equally capable of scoring over the shoulder or making a skip pass on a post touch. Effective and willing screener. Defends the rim well, talks on defense, and closes out on shooters.
Brent Walker (2021) | 6-6 C | Canton McKinley | #56 | Team 9: Physically imposing young man with broad shoulders and a mature build. Crushes two-handed dunks after simple power moves in the post or on the break — he runs the floor very well. Enforcer.
Jack Pugh (2021) | 6-6 F | Bradley | #80 | Team 10: Versatile combo forward with a lean build, a plethora of athletic tools, and a motor. Makes plays in transition or when he attacks a close-out. Crashes the glass with the ferocity of a Tasmanian devil.
Defenders
Jashun Cobb (2020) | 6-0 PG | Benedictine | #32 | Team 2: Athletic guard with length who can defend the 1 and 2. Shows a skilled handle when attacking the basket and finishes in traffic. Both fast and quick.
Joey Holifield (2020) | 6-2 PG | Cardinal Stritch | #38 | Team 9: High-character recruit that uses a strong upper body to defend taller perimeter players and finish around the basket through the teeth of the defense. Patient primary ball-handler but Holifield can play off the ball, too. Jump stop extraordinaire.
Amarion Dickerson (2021) | 6-6 SF | Rhodes | #73 | Team 9: Slender, lengthy and raw prospect with prototypical athleticism on the wing. Rim protector on help-side and in one-on-one situations — he’s really good defending the dribble drive. Scores in transition and on drives against a disheveled defense.
Garner Wallace (2021) | 6-5 SF | Pickerington Central | #114 | Team 10: Swiss army knife on the defensive end with shut-down ability against quick ball-handlers. Speed demon that beats transition defense all game. Routinely scores 20 points in the paint. Three-sport athlete with grades and true character.
Well-rounded Prospects
Jayvon Maughmer (2020) | 6-5 SG | Chillicothe | #110 | Team 1: Proficient at the fundamentals with scoring ability and collegiate size. Maughmer impresses in the open floor and in motion offense halfcourt sets. Flat-out player.
Corey Tripp (2021) | 6-1 SG | Medina | #65 | Team 2: Possesses the ball skills — handle and shooting ability — to take what the defense gives him from all three levels. Strong, thick body allows him to finish inside against forwards.
Cali Davis (2020) | 6-1 G | Africentric | #33 | Team 3: Fast combo guard who races out in transition and plays with relentless hustle on defense. Has become a knock-down outside shooter on the catch. Elusive finisher.
Aidan Reichert (2021) | 6-4 PF | Jackson Center | #109 | Team 3: Gritty faceup forward with intriguing length and confidence as an outside shooter. Provides rebounding and toughness.
Chase Toppin (2020) | 6-1 SG | St. Ignatius | #18 | Team 4: Strong-bodied attacking combo guard who thrives in the open floor. Rebounds well for a guard. Capable shooter.

CJ Anthony (2020) | 6-0 PG | Harvest Prep | #101 | Team 8: This strongly built lead guard is the consummate team player who can really score the ball. Outstanding catch-and-shoot threat whose power is overwhelming in transition. Takes charges every time he steps on the floor.
Paul Burris (2020) | 6-5 SF | Delaware Hayes | #71 | Team 10: Combo forward with shooting ability and an expansive skill-set out of the triple threat. Most dangerous when he catches in the mid-range.
Will McCracken (2021) | 6-4 SF | Moeller | #106 | Team 10: Energetic mid-range scoring threat that can crash the boards, defend 1 through 4 at the high school level, and initiate offense as a ball-handler. Reliable. Knows how to play with other elite guys.
Explosive Athletes
Dominick Moegerle (2020) | 6-4 SF | Hoban | #69 | Team 2: Walsh commit. Potent athlete that explodes at the rim in transiiton or on mid-range drives. Upside as a positionless defender who provides rebounding for the Cavs.
Khalil Davis (2020) | 6-1 G | Princeton | #16 | Team 5: Bouncy slasher that feasts on opportunities to jump over on help-side defense for rejections and steals. Blow-by speed off the dribble. Athletic build.
Aaron Ward (2020) | 6-6 PF | Winton Woods | #57 | Team 6: Raw combo forward with all of the tools to become truly special — light feet, promising frame, quick second jump, and more.
Max Land (2020) | 6-5 SF | Moeller | #72 | Team 10: Athletic marvel with an effective rocker step and finishing package. Defends backcourt and frontcourt players while providing a rebounding presence. Progressing as a pull-up shooter. Nightmare in transition.
