DSJ Elite Guard Kelton Battle: The best PG on the court in the matchup that we got to see him play, he got to the spots he wanted at a very high rate. Blowing past defenders and finishing through contact in the paint using his upper body strength was something that we saw him do over and over again. He did a nice job of making the correct reads in pick and roll situations and gave effort on the defensive end, you can tell he’s been putting in some hours in the gym.
Fayetteville Flash Guard Darius Jewel: One of the better shooters in the county, defenders know not to give him too much space but he still finds ways to get his shot off. He didn’t have his best shooting day in the matchup that we saw but he did a nice job of staying aggressive and finding a good amount of ways to impact the game.
DSJ Elite Guard Marviere Smith: He was the bright spot for a Douglas Byrd team last season that saw quite a few losses as he averaged about 13 PPG. Only about 5’6, he’s is definitely not one that is physically imposing, but he can play the game at a high level due to his skillset and IQ. Breaking down defenders and making the correct read is something that you will see him do on a consistent basis.
Fayetteville Flash Guard Anthony Geddie Jr: One of the smaller guards on the floor, he uses his speed to get to where he wants to go as well as smooth shooting stroke. At times he was a bit too reserved but we did like the fact that he didn’t try to overdue anything, solid overall showing.
Fayetteville Flash Guard Demetrius Polk Jr: His game is growing as well as his physique is taking into shape, you can see the game slowing down for him and he’s making better reads on how to attack the different defenders he faces. Showed some athletic ability and strength when attacking the paint, will be one to keep an eye on.
Fayetteville Flash Guard Demario Norris: One of the toughest players on the court any time he laces them up, he is the type of player that you love to have on your squad when you’re going to battle. The fact that he has played football in the past doesn’t hurt his cause as he is able to take all types of contact without much of an issue. Getting out into transition for easy buckets is something that he did well and at a very high rate, played well throughout for his squad.
Fayetteville Flash Guard Kaylon Keys: Brought some good intensity on the defensive end of the floor which is not a surprise after seeing him throughout the high school season. He did a nice job of picking his spots on offense, attacking when the opportunity was given but also swinging the ball when he did have anything on his own.
