Nick FordNick Ford – Trinity Byrnes (Darlington) – Carolina Dream Team 17
Ford 6’3 was a scoring machine all weekend for his Carolina Dream Team 17. Ford scored 24 points in the opener vs Upward Stars Riverfront 16/17. Ford continued on Sunday with a 44 points and 30 points performances. Ford really has a great knack to score the ball. Ford has really started to score the ball while attacking the baseline or connecting on the mid-range jumper. Ford has the ability to create his own offense.
Ford needs to get better away from the ball at times. Ford averaged 14.8 ppg for the Titans this past season in the SCISA 3A ranks. Ford started off his career at South Florence HS.
Daymond TinsleyDaymond Tinsley – West Florence HS – Carolina Dream Team 17
Tinsley 6’5 came out of hiding it seems this past season. Tinsley we first saw a few years back for the Knights at the University of South Carolina Team Camp. Tinsley played very well today on the defensive end of the floor with some shot blocking and rebounding. Tinsley defended out on the perimeter and was great in the passing lanes.
Carrele CooperCarrele Cooper – Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island) – Manzer 17
Cooper 6’3 recently joined up with Manzer 17 again after playing with Team Wall Southeast. Cooper is a streaky shooter and at times seems to be better from 15-17 feet on the floor. Cooper sees the floor well from the guard spot and makes some great crisp passes. Cooper led the Warriors in scoring last year at Waccamaw HS.
Omarion Byrd – North Augusta HS – Upward Stars Riverfront 16/17 (pictured on front)
Byrd 5’10 undersized shooting guard can really knockdown shots. Byrd has been on the varsity since the 9th grade when we first saw him play for the Yellow Jackets. Byrd threw several passes the length of the floor today on the money. Byrd should be looked upon even more this season for the Yellow Jackets with the recent transfer of RJ Felton to Aiken HS.
