Last weekend we saw quite a few youngsters pick up offers at the Top 100 event so we are looking forward to seeing some more player boost their recruitment this weekend.
Farmville Central: The State Champs will be in the building as the feature at least 3 D1 prospects on their roster with: 2020 Justin Wright, 2021 Guard Terquavion Smith and 2021 Forward Leontae Moye. 32-0 was the record last season so it will be interesting to see how things go this for the group as they return quite a few players which includes 2020 Guard Samage Teel, who has seen his recruitment warm up some.
Apex Friendship: Go ahead and get familiar with this group, they have one of the top 2020 prospects in the state in Nick Farrar as he seems to add an offer just about every day. He’s a player that can play above the rim at times but does a high amount of his damage below the rim using his skillset and strength.
Bishop McGuinness: The 1A Champs from last year have some nice pieces coming back and will be a team to keep a close eye on. Guard Jake Ledbetter returns and will be one of the players that is called on to lead the squad, as well as some size at the Forward and Center spots.
Forest Hills: They have consistently been in the race for State Championships the last few years, which included a chip in 2018. One of the players that you have to keep a close eye on for their squad is 6’7 rising junior forward Jamylan Blakeney who has proven himself to be a D1 prospect due to the combination of his size, skillset and potential.
Millbrook: They already are building the chemistry that needed for success in March as they recently won a team camp championship in Wilmington. 2021 Forward Will Felton is one to keep an eye on, he continues to get better and you can tell that he puts a nice amount of work in on his game. 2020 Guard Nolan Dorsey has been turning heads all spring with his ability to make plays at the PG spot, he’s an outstanding passer that knows how to find teammates at the right time.
Granville Central: 19-9 was the record they had last season with the squad eventually coming up short in the 3rdround of the playoffs. One of the players that you need to know from this team is 2021 Guard Terrance Harcum, who has been playing at an outstanding level averaging close to 25 PPG during his first two years.
Holly Springs: Obviously they will lose some production as big man Kadin Shedrick is a UVA Cavalier now, and one of the better shooter on their team in Garrett Phillips is headed to college as well. The positive is they return some talent, which include D1 prospect Kaleb Scott, who is a 6’7 forward with a next level physique that can play inside and out.
