What if Michigan’s class of 2021 was picked in the same way that the NBA Draft occurs? Who would go number 1? Who would be a lottery pick? Well, 5 basketball minds got together and did a 1 round draft of the talented players in Michigan’s class of 2021.
THE LOTTERY
1: Kobe Bufkin (PG, Grand Rapids Christian)
Bufkin is one of the fastest rising prospects in the country. He’s a great player to lead a team into the future.
2: Pierre Brooks (G, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Brooks has it all. He’s an elite scorer, a great player defensively, and above all else a leader.
3: Julian Roper (PG, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
Roper is a playmaker. He’s a smart player that finds open teammates and can create scoribg chances for himself.
4: Jaden Akins (SG, Farmington)
Akins is an elite talent. He’s a true 3 level scorer, making him a constant threat.
5: Foster Wonders (SF, Iron Mountain)
Wonders is a scorer. We saw it in the state playoffs last year. He just gets buckets.
6: Legend Geeter (F, River Rouge)
Geeter is a lean 6’7″ that could probably defend the 2-5. He’s a team first player that is very coachable.
7: Owen Lobsinger (G/F, Flint Powers)
Lobsinger is a very safe pick. It’s tough for opponents to hold him down and he always contributes in one way or another.
8: Jayden Nunn (G, Flint Carman-Ainsworth)
Nunn is an athletic guard that pays fast. He’s strong in the open floor.
9: Basheer Jihad (PF, North Farmington)
Jihad has a huge ceiling. He’s just at the tip of the iceberg in uncovering his massive amount of talent.
10: Peter Nwoke (PF, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s)
Nwoke is a long rim protector. He has tons of upside as an athletic big.
11: Simon Wheeler (PG, Ferndale)
Wheeler is a dynamic playmaker. His downhill style pressures the defense.
12: Julian Lewis (SG, Ann Arbor Huron)
Lewis is a strong guard and an excellent defender. He has a knack for always finding a way to influence a game.
13: Omar Ziegler (SG, Detroit King)
Ziegler is an athletic guard. He’s great in transition, where he finishes strong.
14: Blake Lund (CG, Linden)
Lund is an excellent combo guard. He can handle and distribute off the bounce as well as hit jumpers from deep.
