He showed his quick release and ability to get his shot up really unaffected by the defense. Cook also showed he’s clearly not a one trick pony as he almost had two monster dunks that he got fouled on. His athleticism was on full display as he finishes high and near the rim on every take to the basket.
He was one of the most well rounded players on the court and it was evident. He rarely got beat off the dribble and didn’t get beat on a back door all game, he played solid defense for the most part. In the first game of the day, he had at least three steals and he had very active hands. His speed helped him out as he was always the first one down the court, and it helped him as he was able to finish so well.
Strengths:
- shooting, quick release, range
- fast, quick first step, first one down the floor
- athlete, crazy vertical
- finishes well/high off glass, did not miss around the rim
- nice behind the back pass, vision, willingness to pass
- control, strong takes to the rim, big frame
- had a lot of steals, played great help defense that led to more steals
Weaknesses:
- Gambles on defense
- Cherry picks
- Bites on pump fakes too often
- Loses his man on box outs
