Dylan Branson 6’5″ Mehlville: The stocky perimeter player put in work in the Panthers’ victories over East St. Louis and Ladue. In the win over Ladue, he had his 3-point stroke working as he knocked down five from long distance. In the East St. Louis game, he diversified his game as he scored in the low post and on bully-ball drives. He can run the show on offense and drop dimes to make his teammates better.
Jashawn Anderson 5’10” East St. Louis: The 2020 point guard is quick and virtually impossible to keep out of the lane when he wants to. He has great acceleration, shifty moves and the ability to finish in traffic in the land of the giants. He is also a boss on-ball defender who puts constant pressure on the opposing ball handler. He was the unsung hero of the Flyers’ 2019 state-championship team.
Jaylen Boyd 6’1″ Ladue: The 2020 point guard is a big factor on both ends of the court and can control a game with his athleticism, experience and high basketball IQ. He has shifty moves and can change speeds on the dribble to get to the basket and score and he has continued to improve his 3-point shooting. He is a strong defender with his length.
Evan Worley 6’7″ Hillsboro: A very solid 2020 forward who looked dominant in victories of St. Dominic and Waterloo. He was very active and scored well around the basket for two games. He has an excellent shooting touch and I liked the way he used the backboard to finish. He also did a good job stepping out and making 3-pointers off the catch.
Kristian Davis 6’3″ Christian-O’Fallon: A talented 2022 guard who is serious bucket-getter with a versatile game. He displayed a feathery touch from 3-point range, whether it was on the catch or off the dribble. He has an excellent set of handles, when enables him to get to the basket for tough finishes in the lane.
Shawn Riley 6’7″ O’Fallon: The long, athletic 2021 forward was active and very productive on the day. He really runs the court well and scored many buckets in the transition game. He is a tough matchup for opposing post players because of his mobility and the fact that he is left-handed. He also rebounded and blocked shots well.
