LJ Ginnis 5’9 G South Mountain
LJ Ginnis looked like a very poised and seasoned guard. He has really impressive play making ability and you can sense his feel for the game. He is very quick, which makes it very easy for him to get to the basket. Ginnis can do a little bit of everything offensively. I personally love to see him in pick and roll situations because he makes some high IQ passes.
Mason Thomas 6’0 2021 G South Mountain
Mason Thomas looked really solid all tournament long. He is very long and can lock up on defense due to his size and athleticism. His perimeter defense is as good as anyone that I’ve seen at that age. He also showed that he can shoot it from time to time but he was far more successful when he attacked the basket. He had some pretty acrobatic finishes around the rim.
Steven Hernandez 6’0 2022 G Perry
This guy can flat out shoot the basketball! He kept his team in the championship game against RHJ. They were down by 20 points in the second half and due to his shooting ability, the Gremlins cut it to a single point game. Steven ran off of a lot of screens and pulled his shot as soon as it touched his hands, very impressive shooting display.
Damarion Pouncil 6’6 2022 F South Mountain
Pouncil is a very intriguing prospect. He is super long and more mobile that I thought he would be. Most players that size are very awkward in their movements when they are at that age but he looked solid. He had moments of greatness where he would drop set and dunk on the defense or cut hard and catch another dunk. Defensively, he looked really good as well. He rebounded the ball well and turned away a lot of shots near the rim.
Max Anderson 6’1 2022 F Chandler
Max Anderson has a lot of potential. He has a really good body with long arms and quick feet to match. He looked really good defensively. Anderson and Thomas got a ton of steals out of their full court press. Much like Thomas, Anderson showed that he can shoot the deep ball occasionally but is more of an attacking forward right now.
