Kerrick Thorne @PrepHoopsTN Summer Combine Recapture
Kerrick Thorne (Howard) attracted more than one onlooker’s gaze. The length and mobility sparked interest. Thorne isn’t a finished product just yet. His finishing around the rim can get awkward even though his body control is better than average at 6’5″.

The 3/4 sprint time of 3.27 resembles an NBA power forward. Of course, Kerrick is 3-5 inches shorter than an NBA power forward, but that time deserves mention. Thorne was slower than preferred during the shuttle run. Several players had trouble with maneuvering rapid through the tight course. He could have used a second time for that event. The 12.91 stands because he moved on to the sprint test due to time constraints before lunch.
Kerrick projects as a combo forward. Ideally, he will develop his mid-range game and handle to become a 6’5″ bouncy wing. That might not happen by next spring.
With 10.0″ hands you are looking at an impressive specimen. There might be a little growth left. Without more height, which is possibly finished, Kerrick can tack on upper body muscle. Right now Kerrick is quite thin and while he uses that lightness to get off the deck quickly his frame needs more meat to compete past high school.
Thorne put up 17 points against East Nashville last season. Howard and Kerrick Thorne are still on the rise even after a tremendous joint 2018-2019.
