Intro: Luke Moustakas (2021)
Brother Rice 2021 power forward Luke Moustakas is emerging as one of the more intriguing posts in his class and a major reason is how well he shoots it spotting up and in pick/pop situations. Highly skilled post that plays with Chicago Lockdown up on the 17U level. Plus shooter that competes on the glass and shows a soft touch around the hoop.
He chatted with PHI at the Show Me Showdown about his spring with Chicago Lockdown.
“It is going good. Early on my shot was off so I was missing a lot so was missing a lot. It is getting better.”
What is it like playing up a year as the 2021 forward is running with the Lockdown 17U group on the PrepHoops Circuit?
“It is the same really. Just a little faster. There is no difference. Playing better competition.”
What areas is he focusing on in his game this season?
“Rebounding for sure. Being more aggressive and driving more often when people set on my three.”
He will have to take on a bigger role this season at Brother Rice with the graduation of Marquise Kennedy. The forward talked about how the team will have to adjust.
“There will be more ball movement and I will have to knock down more shots.”
It is still in the very early stages of the Brother Rice big man’s recruitment. Expect more schools to get involved as he fits the new age style of basketball spacing the floor. He currently sets at #34 overall and the #8 power forward in the 2021 class.
