Continue ReadingAh’Quay Mosley is a 5-foot-10 combo guard for Bunn High School that returns as their scoring, rebounding and assists leader with 13.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest as a sophmore for the Wildcats last season. His return will be one of the biggest keys to the success of his team in 2019-20. He’s not being heavily recruited but he’s certainly a prospect that should get looks with his ability to fill up the stat sheet.
Mosley is an aggressive slasher that looks to get tough buckets in the paint. He’s got a solid floor game that’s coming along from behind the arc, but his biggest asset is making plays with the ball in his hands. He’s crafty with the ball off the dribble and also has the ability to get to the free throw line as well. He shot 53 percent from the field and made 128 free throws on the year as a sophomore.
This past week, I was able to catch up with Ah’Quay to get his thoughts on the development of his game and his current recruiting process.
Q: Breakdown Ah’Quay Mosley’s game. What are some of the strengths and weaknesses of your game?
Ah’Quay Mosley: Some of my strengths are getting to the basket, getting my teammates involved, my defense and being a leader.
Q: Last season ya’ll made some noise down the stretch with some upsets of some top teams in the area, what’s in store for 2019-20?
AM: I just want us to continue to play as a team and improve our overall record. We want to win more games than we did last year and progress throughout the team.
Q: Who’s one player you’re looking to really bring along with you on both ends?
AM: Jai Austin and Xavier Jones are two guys that are really coming along with me.
Q: What’s the biggest aspect of your game you’re working on?
AM: The biggest aspect of my game I’m working on is improving is shooting off the dribble and driving with the weak hand.
Q: How’s your current recruitment going?
AM: Right now, I don’t really have any offers yet but I’m just looking to play anywhere at the next level at this point. I feel like I’m capable of playing somewhere at the next level.
Mosley certainly has next-level talent and where he lands ultimately depends on his overall development in the next two seasons. He’s certainly got potential to see his game blossom and at the very least, should generate some looks at the junior college level.
