Elijah Russell – Ocala-Forest 2022: Can’t say enough about this rising sophomore and the progression he’s made, this summer. A bonafide rim protector in the paint, he proved last night that he can defend the perimeter, as well. Fights for offensive rebounds and putbacks. Should be a cornerstone for Forest over the next three years.
Adrian Bloodworth – P.K. Yonge 2021: Slowly emerging into one of the Blue Wave’s young leaders with the way his energy is brought on both sides of the floor. On defense, his timing is great on jumping the pick & roll, and earning a steal. On offense, he lit it up from three, and found his teammates for easy assists, buckets. He can be a force, this year.
Danny Dawson – P.K. Yonge 2020: With each Summer League game I’ve seen him play in, his output gets better and better. Dawson is comfortable stepping out & hitting the trey, battling in the paint for loose balls and rebounds, and just being the spark the Wave need at any given moment.
Jake Charske – Ocala-Forest 2020: Usually Jake is a guy that can kill you from beyond-the-arc, but I was excited to see him utilize the midrange game a bit more on Wednesday. He used his shot-fakes well to create space, get two dribbles in, and sink the 13-17 footers. Did a great job pushing the fast-break and finishing tough at the rim.
Jalen Speer – P.K. Yonge 2020: This senior leader was another guy who took care of business using the midrange game on Wednesday night. Although he hit a couple treys, I like seeing Jalen expand upon the spots he’s accustomed to scoring, from. Loved how unselfish he was on certain plays—not forcing the tough shot, but instead staying vigilant, and finding his teammates for quick assists.
