Yonge, and Gainesville-Eastside all have some talent worth looking at over the next couple years. Check out part two of the night’s top performers.
Key’Shaun Williams – Hawthorne 2020: This senior guard has a great sense of pace about his game, always seems to stay level-headed on the floor. He can get to the rim with ease and hit the turnaround jumper from around the free-throw line. On defense, he can put the pressure on dribblers, force a steal, and race to the other end for layups with or without contact.
Braden Dean – Bronson 2021: The bulky rising junior is a football player, and you can tell by the footwork he possesses. Listen, Dean is quick with his decision-making on where to attack the rim while in the post. If the lane is clogged, his passing game is solid when it comes to finding an open man, nearby. Loved how he hustled to deflect passes while on defense. Consider him an X-Factor for Bronson.
Anski St. Fleur – Forest 2021: This is another guy who has an even-keeled demeanor about his game. Never appears rattled or overthinking the situation. St. Fleur really HUSTLED for his points on Wednesday night. Most of them came off the drive, with defenders on his heels. He’s a pretty elusive ball-handler, one that can be trusted during the game’s key moments.
Aziel Gainey – Eastside 2021: One of the quickest new guards in Gainesville, the Trinity Catholic transfer is proving himself as a bonafide shooter from beyond the arc. Whether off-the-catch, or off-the-dribble, he can give it to you from deep. Gainey is definitely going to add some firepower for the Rams this upcoming season.
Danny Dawson – P.K. Yonge 2020: I’m just really proud of the improvements Dawson has made to his game of the last couple of seasons. He’s always played with heart, but now that heart is being coupled with results. Dawson is already a better rebounder than this previous season. Now, he can step back and hit the midrange jumper and corner trey. On D, he’s timing his blocks just right, and meeting people at the rim.
