NORWALK, Ca.—James Harden, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are just a few of the names that have exhibited their talents at the Pangos AA Camp—and it’s time to add a couple of more names to that impressive list in Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley. These two prospects should be in NBA sooner than later and have the skill, savvy, and overall talent to be prominent players in the arena we call “The League”.
Rahsool Diggins (Archbishop Wood/PA)
2021, PG, 6-foot-1, 155 pounds
Joel’s Take: The young looking Diggins has his best basketball ahead of him. He has long arms, ideal quickness and speed, and he plays at a very good pace. His strength is nailing jump shots from deep, but he had some nice finishes as well. Continuing to improve his point guard skills (advancing the ball/1st step/etc.) will improve his game.
RJ Davis (Stepinac/NY)
2020, PG, 6-foot, 155 pounds
Davis is a fast-rising point guard who can shoot the 3-ballJoel’s Take: Being out West, I didn’t know too much about Davis, but I do now. The fearless competitor pushes the ball well in transition, is crafty playmaker, and can shoot it consistently from deep.
JT Thor (Huntington Prep/WV)
2020, WF, 6-foot-8, 190 pounds
Joel’s Take: The long and rangy Thor caught our eye with his versatile skill set. This lefty has a willowy frame that will need to get stronger, but he can knock in deep 3s, and is a gifted passer. In addition, he can face-up his opponent (triple threat game) and blow by him for either the finish or nifty pass.
Mason Miller (Houston/TN)
2021, WF, 6-foot-8, 185 pounds
Miller is a lengthy wing with a 3-point stroke and in-between gameJoel’s Take: Mason, who is the son of former NBA standout Mike Miller, didn’t take long to show that his dad’s genes were firmly placed within his DNA. Mason is a lengthy wing-type who can nail the long 3 or put it on the deck and attack the rim. He plays with a high motor and affects the game in the areas of scoring and facilitating.
Alex Karaban (Algonquin Region/MA)
2022, WF, 6-foot-7, 220 pounds
Joel’s Take: Long arms, high motor, and a bouncy athlete describes this up-and-coming sophomore. He snatches rebounds, fills the lane, and can finish with authority. His jumpshot has an awkward release, but he did nail a number of them. Continuing to build his inside-out game with be key with his development.
