NORWALK, Ca.—James Harden, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are just a few of the names that have exhibited their talents at the Pangos AA Camp—and it’s time to add a couple of more names to that impressive list in Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley. These two prospects should be in NBA sooner than later and have the skill, savvy, and overall talent to be prominent players in the arena we call “The League”.
Fallou Diagne (Tri-Cities Christian/AZ)
2020, C, 6-foot-11, 220 pounds
Diagne is a High Major talent due to his length, bounce, and soft touchJoel’s Take: Arguably one of the Top 10 prospects in camp considering his arsenal at his disposal. The long and rangy Diagne is a fluid runner in transition, shows nice timing in the paint at both ends as a rebounder and rim protector, and can score inside-and-out (nice elbow touch). He has good hands and feet and pretty much has all the physical elements to be a professional player.
Micah Peavy (Duncanville/TX)
2020, SG, 6-foot-6, 190 pounds
Joel’s Take: Peavy had a terrific camp due to his consistent all-around performance. He has that prototypical D 1 frame with long arms and he’s explosive as well. He can slither his way to the rim and finish with either hand or knock in the deep 3. Most importantly, he played with a no nonsense mindset and as a result delivered in every game I watched.
Deivon Smith (Grayson/GA)
2020, PG, 6-foot, 160 pounds
Joel’s Take: Smith is more scorer than facilitator at this stage. He has a tremendous burst off the dribble and can get by his defender with a tight crossover. In transition he skates by defenders with ease and has the bounce to finish over the “bigs” in the paint. Not too mention his pull-up game and “runner” are legitimate weapons.
Josh Hall (Moravian Prep/NC)
2020, PF/WF, 6-foot-9, 215 pounds
Hall has the physical tools and skill to be a High Major player.Joel’s Take: Hall affects the game in a number of ways due to his blossoming skill set. He is an explosive athlete in the paint, has a soft touch that extends to 20-feet, and is just scratching the surface of his potential. Due to his nimble feet and soft hands he has the ability to defend multiple positions.
Matthew Alexander-Moncrieffe (Orangeville Prep/CAN)
2020, WF, 6-foot-7, 215 pounds
Joel’s Take: Alexander-Moncrieffe stood out with a number of highlight type plays at both ends. His strength was noticeable with his ability to rebound in traffic and finish through contact. Yet he also had the finesse to drop in some 3s as well as some rim-running finishes. He plays with a blue-collar mindset and never gets to up or down—just plays the game.
