In his first spring of EYBL play, Bush is doing just that. The 5-foot-6 guard is averaging around 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists per game.
“The circuit is different than what I’ve played in the last two years because everybody is just as good as you,” Bush says about the EYBL. “I know that each game I have to come out and compete.”
Schools have been recruiting the small guard since his days on the UAA 15U circuit. At this point, he holds offers from Houston Baptist, Lamar, Longwood, and Sam Houston State.
IN BRAELON’S WORDS
Houston Baptist: “I have not taken a visit there yet but the coaches are really cool with me. They show a lot of love and it is not far from home, which is not bad.”
Lamar: “Coach Price has been recruiting me and was the first to offer me. It would not be bad to play that close to home. My family can come to watch me play and that would be cool.”
Longwood: Coach Aldrich really loves me. He knows that I’ll fit in and he wants me to play the way he wants me to. He tells me that the Longwood program is like a home and the team is like family. I really appreciate how he keeps in contact with me every day.
Sam Houston State: They really really love me. The coaching staff has seen me explode for big thirty and forty-point games in regionals. Coach Mudge and Coach Hooten really show a lot of love and I appreciate it.
FINAL THOUGHTS
With the Hoops qualifying for Peach Jam, Bush mentioned that he will wait until after then to see how many schools are interested and then make a decision from there. He is one of the fastest guards in the country and he does not mind letting it fly from beyond NBA range. Coaches will continue to value his explosiveness and quick trigger from deep if he keeps up his level of play throughout July.
