Big Man In The Middle
Matt Reed is a back to the basket big man that uses his strong body to power through smaller defenders. Reed utilized drop steps and other post moves that most big men don’t possess until they are upperclassmen in high school. I’m excited to see what the future holds for the Dallas big man and I believe he will be a nationally ranked prospect before it’s all said and done.
The Point Guard of The Future
Having a point guard that can run your team and make plays for others as well as for himself is a luxury to have. The Belief Basketball Sharpshooters have that luxury point guard in R.J. Chatman. Chatman was magnificent all weekend long at the Jr. NBA despite not playing aside his partner in crime M.J. Thomas who was out of town. Chatman was elusive with the basketball and made precise passes to open teammates for baskets. He has a chance to make an immediate impact in high school this year, because of his ability to run a team and his mature skill set for a player his age. Chatman is cementing himself as one of the best point guards in the state for his class.
Drive Nation 2023 Wins the South Regional Jr. NBA Championship
The Jr. NBA had some quality teams this past weekend playing at the Drive Nation facility in Dallas Texas. On Sunday afternoon, Drive Nation 2023 faced the Houston Hoops Blue Chips in the championship. The game was an absolute dog fight from beginning to end. The Drive Nation talented five consisting of Peyton Chism, Ty Cox, Robert Jones, Ja’kobe Walter and, Ronald Holland put their team on their backs and propelled them to a 70-62 win over their in-state rivals.
