6’3 Mikey Mitchell 2021 Mitty– Mikey has developed into an all around guard. Once known as just a scorer now he gets teammates involved, gets to the rim and gets down and guard. During the weekend Mike looked very comfortable and under control. Getting to the rim he took contact and used his new muscle to bounce defenders off their marks. With his silky smooth jumper he knocked down multiple 3’s during the weekend and got in the passing lanes. Creating steals and providing pressure on ball. One of the most improved 2021’s in Northern.
6’2 Jack Byer 2020 De La Salle-The incoming senior lefty is starting off with a hot hand. Runing hard through the offense he gets to his spots and knocks down open 3’s like layups. When the shot goes up and its not coming from Byers he offensive rebounds very well to create second chance shots. During the weekend he hit a lot of big shots including the game winner vs Modesto Christian.
6’1 Luke Westermeyer 2021 Clayton Valley-Clayton Valleys run and gun style fits in perfectly with Luke’s game. Playing the point guard potion Luke’s first instinct is to pass. Coming down the lane he finds pocket passes in the corner to open shooters. Coming off the pick and roll he works it like a pro an because he has a lot of layup packages to finishes through contact and around the bigs.
6’6 Chris Bunch 2022 De La Salle– The 6’6 shooter is getting better and better. During the tournament Chris averaged right around 19 points while playing 3 games in one day. Showed the ability to consistently knocking down 3’s. With an improved handle he create off the dribble and directed teammates. Went on a 13-0 run by himself on a buzzer beater win vs Modesto Christian. The unique shooter continues to provide efficient scoring and knocking down his shot at a high rate. Very high major scorer.
