Boston College, Charlotte, Clemson, Delaware State, DePaul, Fairfield, Florida, George Mason, Georgetown, James Madison, Louisville, Penn, Rutgers, St. Peter’s, Virginia, and VMI were among the schools in the gym. Below is a brief rundown of six standouts from the Saturday morning.
RASHEED DUPREE | 5’5 G | KIPP ‘21
Rasheed Dupree was instrumental in his team’s win over St. Albans. He set the tone with a high activity level defensively and forced several turnovers. Offensively, Dupree is a capable spot up shooter who likes to penetrate the defense and create for others. Despite his small stature, he isn’t afraid of physical play in the paint and is a crafty finisher at the rim.
SAVEON JACKSON | 6’0 G | KIPP ‘21
One thing that stood out about Saveon Jackson this morning was his versatility. He’s got long arms, broad shoulders, and a sturdy base which gives him the strength to embrace contact. Jackson is a good rebounding guard who is best in transition where he likes to apply pressure on the opposing team by attacking the basket relentlessly.
MICHAEL KATSOCK | 6’5 SF | ST. ALBANS ‘20
Michael Katsock shot it really well as expected, but also showcased strong fundamentals. He is a vocal presence on the court with ideal leadership intangibles. Katsock was often seen encouraging his younger teammates and did his best to keep them involved.
ISHMAEL LEGGETT | 6’3 G | ST. JOHN’S ‘20
Ishmael Leggett spearheaded a hard-fought St. John’s win with a solid all-around performance. He defended the opposing team’s best player and initiated the offense in half-court.
KADEN METHENY | 5’11 G | UNIVERSITY ‘20
Fletcher Magee is a name that comes to mind when you watch Kaden Metheny play. He’s an extremely skilled guard who shoots it at a high clip and can move without the ball, but also has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble and finish in traffic. Another thing that really stood out about Matheny was his passing ability.
JOHN WILSON | 5’10 PG | ST. JOHN’S ‘20
John Wilson impressed in a variety of areas this morning. He’s a scrappy guard who plays with pace and defends with tenacity. Wilson is a great table setter who likes to get out in transition, pull up on a dime and knock down the mid-range, attack the basket, or set up others.
