Nathan Schwartze 6’2″ Father Tolton: With his team playing shorthanded during the weekend, Schwartze put on an impressive offensive display in the games that I watched. He was always pushing the pace and he displayed scoring at all three levels. He created space and knocked down jumpers off the dribble and got into the lane and scored in traffic. He also found open teammates for buckets as well.
Kevin Sorrells 6’2″ Hogan Prep: A smooth offensive player with good size who did an excellent job of creating buckets off the dribble. His handles were good and he could escape defenders and score in the lane with layups and mid-range jumpers. He was at his best when he was operating on the bounce.
Caillou Naylor 6’0″ Hickman: A physical combo guard who plays much bigger than his actual size. He is a solid athlete, but he plays with a lot of strength and determination as he can get to the bucket and score in traffic. He craves the contact on the drive as he got many conventional three-point plays. For his size, he was one of the top rebounders that I watched at the camp.
Isaac Johnson 5’8″ Helias: The little combo guard was one of the mos impressive perimeter shooters at the camp. He was lighting up with consistency from the perimeter as he hit four to five 3-pointers in both of the games that I watched on Saturday. He’s quick with good handles and he gets to the open spots to get off his potent perimeter shots.
Charles Wilson 6’0″ Rock Bridge: A solid guard who is one of the holdovers from a state championship team. He has a strong body who can plays well on both ends of the court. He can knock down open 3-pointers and get buckets on the drive while staying under control. He has good strength and solid quickness and he is ready to play a bigger role next season.
Deuce Tatum 6’1″ Father Tolton: The shooting guard was an energizer bunny with the ball in his hands as he put constant pressure on the defense. He was very effective at creating shots off the dribble.
Reese Dodson 6’0″ Salem: It was my first time seeing this small-school guard from Southwest Missouri and I was impressed with his confident ball handling ability. He was poised and he got where he wanted to go, plus he had a reliable 3-point shot.
