1. Jalen Johnson (Nicolet/Phenom University)
Previous: 1
Johnson is down to Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.Johnson isn’t going to get moved off this 1-line. A consensus top 10 prospect, and top five per most outlets, the five-star G/F is a transcendent talent in the state. The 6-foot-9 point forward can do it all — score, facilitate, rebound, defend, protect the rim, and lead. All Johnson has done over the last two years is dominate as an individual and every team he’s been a part of. Holding offers from all over the country, Johnson is down to Arizona, Duke, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
2. Johnny Davis (La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club)
Previous 2
A tenacious guard, Davis probably plays harder than any kid I’ve ever covered. The Wisconsin commit is an excellent slasher with the tools to be a lockdown defender at the next level. A kid that can grab a rebound and get coast-to-coast, Davis doesn’t care who’s in his path. His mid-range jumper has steadily improved over the last three years as has his willingness to take and make more difficult shots outside the paint. Criminally underrated, Davis is going to play and make a sizable impact for four consecutive years at the next level.
3. Jamari Sibley (Nicolet/Phenom University)
Previous: 3
Sibley stays put at No. 3 in the rankings. There’s no doubt that Sibley has some of the best potential in this class. The 6-foot-8 forward has crazy length and a frame that’s not even close to being filled out. A consensus top 100 prospect, Sibley recently narrowed his list down to Syracuse, Marquette, Minnesota, Georgetown, South Carolina, Iowa State, Maryland, Wake Forest, and Iowa. His jumper and ability to create offense can be erratic, but Sibley is without a doubt a game-changer as a shot blocker and transition threat, often swinging the momentum of games with his above the rim play.
4. Carter Gilmore (Arrowhead/Phenom University)
Previous: 4
Gilmore has done nothing but strengthen his hold on this spot. While he holds double-digit mid-major offers, Gilmore is pushing for high major looks as Wisconsin, Minnesota, Rutgers, and Wake Forest are all taking a close look. A 6-foot-7 point forward who can score and create for others, Gilmore has unique ability to run the show and carry a team.
5. Dalton Banks (Eau Claire North/D1 Minnesota)
Previous: 6
Banks slides into the top five after a strong spring.A prospect that knows how to run a team and plays a lot of mistake-free basketball, Banks has been terrific this spring. The senior point guard plays with a lot of talent and Banks has shown the ability to manage it all, while still getting his as a scorer. At 6-foot-1, Banks can push the pace at a high level and make excellent open court decisions. In high school, this is a kid that constantly flirts with a triple-double. Southern Illinois, Montana, North Dakota State, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, and South Dakota have all offered Banks thus far.
6. Isaac Lindsey (Mineral Point/Wisconsin Swing)
Previous: 5
DePaul, Oakland (MI), UW-Milwaukee, Brown, Illinois-Chicago, UW-Green Bay, and South Dakota State have offered Lindsey thus far. Probably the best pure shooter in this class, Lindsey definitely has a high major skill set and scoring IQ. Lindsey has always been a deadly shooter, but he’s starting to expand his game closer to the rim and be more willing to attack the basket. If he can pack on size and athleticism, Lindsey can definitely play at the high major level.
7. Terrance Thompson (La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club)
Previous: 7
Thompson is approaching 10 Division 1 scholarship offers.Don’t count out Thompson to potentially move up a couple of spots by the end of the summer. Things were clicking for him a little bit more in May and June and the 6-foot-8 power forward went head-to-head and had a lot of success against some really good post prospects in the Midwest. We’ve always been high on Thompson and thought he was undervalued when you consider his ability to run the floor, shoot from 3-point range, attack the offensive glass, and block shots. A prospect that still has quite a bit of upside left, Thompson has offers from Toledo, Bradley, Missouri State, Illinois Chicago, Grambling State, UW-Milwaukee, DePaul, and UW-Green Bay.
8. Jacob Ognacevic (Sheboygan Lutheran/Wisconsin Playground Club)
Previous: 10
A skilled, versatile post prospect that’s still just scratching the surface, Ognaceivc showed some strong flashes while moving up to the shoe circuits. The 6-foot-8 forward can score from all three levels and has excellent footwork. The transition was a bit much at first, but Ognacevic quickly learned to increase his physicality and motor, which will help him hold his own at the next level. DePaul, UC-Davis, UW-Green Bay, Valparaiso, Indiana State, and UW-Milwaukee are on board with offers.
9. Jordan Davis (La Crosse Central/Wisconsin Playground Club)
Previous: 9
Davis is committed to Wisconsin. If his performance at Wisconsin’s team camp was any indication, Davis is turning a corner. While he was thought of as a mid-major hoops prospect, the Badgers offered Davis a full-ride. Since that point, he’s been shooting the ball with the highest level of confidence that we’ve seen. The 6-foot-4 wing is an outstanding on-ball defender. Davis has the speed and athleticism to make things happen in transition as well.
10. Anthony Washington (Madison East/Wisconsin Premier)
Previous: 8
A terrific two-way talent, Washington can impact the games on both ends of the floor. Washington loves to get up and down and make things happen in transition. A bouncy athlete, Washington is a threat to score above the rim no matter the situation. An underrated defender, Washington can slow down the other team’s top scorer. There are no offers on the table yet, but Washington has proven to be a D1 talent.
