NORWALK, Ca.—James Harden, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook are just a few of the names that have exhibited their talents at the Pangos AA Camp—and it’s time to add a couple of more names to that impressive list in Cade Cunningham and Evan Mobley. These two prospects should be in NBA sooner than later and have the skill, savvy, and overall talent to be prominent players in the arena we call “The League”.
Mwani Wilkinson (Bishop Gorman/NV)
2020, SG, 6-foot-5, 185 pounds
Joel’s Take: Wilkinson fits my motto “it’s not where you start, it’s where you finish”. Many of Bishop Gorman’s players were well-known as frosh—and deservedly so. However, Wilkinson has the most upside. The burly wing-type has tremendous bounce and is becoming a more polished scorer. As his ball skills continue to improve as well as his overall savvy, he has high-major potential.
Frank Kepnang (Westown/PA)
2021, C, 6-foot-10, 230 pounds
Kepnang has a high motor and pounds the glassJoel’s Take: Kepnang is still in the rudimentary stages of his offensive development, but on the other end of the floor he makes his presense felt. He has a long frame, has good feet, and he is quick off the floor. Defensively, he protects the rim, rebounds in traffic (plays physical), and can finish above the rim through contact.
Skyy Clark (Heritage Christian/CA)
2022, PG, 6-foot-1, 165 pounds
Joel’s Take: Clark, who is known as a scorer, did a nice job of facilitating at this camp. He has a mature frame to carry defenders on his hip and his head is always up while attacking the defense. He has good speed and quickness, delivers look ahead passes to open teammates, and still had enough opportunities to show off his scoring repretoire.
Sam Ayomide Onu (Texas Christian/TX)
2021, C, 6-foot-11, 230 pounds
Joel’s Take: I didn’t know too much about this young “big” before this camp, but I certainly do now. The lengthy Onu affects the game at both ends due to his rim protection and rebounding prowess. Although his hands need to improve, he still grabbed numerous rebounds, possessed a high motor, and showed the ability to score over his left shoulder with touch.
Terren Frank (Sierra Canyon/CA)
2020, PF, 6-foot-7, 220 pounds
Frank has a knack to score from all three levels.Joel’s Take: From the get go, Frank played fearless basketball. The face-up 4-man who has quite the scoring arsenal, was one of the better bucket-getters at this camp. A typical sequence for Frank was snatching a rebound, pushing the break, and converting at the other end via a pull-up jump shot or a paint finish. In a nutshell, he is just has a knack to score.
