Keshawn Hall (2021 Jefferson) – Hall didn’t start but he certainly made an impact coming off the bench. The 6-foot point guard will prove to be one of the best penetrators in the state as he seemingly was able to get to the basket whenever he wanted to. While he is still trying to fit in with his new teammates and figure out the nuances, Hall did a good job against Skyview with his decision making and his game wasn’t all about penetration as he also stepped out and hit a couple of long jumpers.
Kam Robinson (2021 Jefferson) – It wasn’t his best game – after all, he missed three dunks – but Robinson was still able to post a solid performance, converting several buckets near the hoop and hitting the boards hard on both ends. Robinson remains a master of following up his own misses and we still have to mention how remarkable his body transformation has been since last year.
Nate Rawlins-Kibonge (2021 Jefferson) – Not a big offensive night for Rawlins-Kibonge, who actually didn’t get many touches on that end of the floor. But as usual, he was a beast on the boards and racked up several blocked shots against anyone who dared take it strong to the basket.
Trace Salton (2021 Lake Oswego) – Lake Oswego rotated in all of their guys in and out so Salton played maybe half of the game, but in the minutes he played the 6-foot-4 forward/wing played tough. He was hard to handle down in the paint and his turn-around flip shot was very difficult to block. Salton ran the floor well, hit the boards, and was solid defensively in the Lakers win.
Jace Chatman (2021 Skyview) – Chatman was put in a tough position as Skyview was missing four of their top guys for various reasons. That meant the 6-foot-4 wing had to do a bit of everything including play point guard as well as score. It was a bit of a rough shooting night against Jefferson, but Chatman was able to drain a few threes, handle the ball fairly well against pressure, and hang with his assignments on defense.
Jaxon Faile (2021 Skyview) – Faile was the find of the day – anytime someone throws down three two-handed dunks in a game you’re going to pay attention. The 6-foot-7 rising junior is very raw but obviously is athletic and combined with his size he has the potential to make some difference-making plays on both ends. Skyview is bringing him along slowly but Faile is someone to keep an eye on.
